Starry night || Denny & Reina

Reina laid down next to him, tucking up the edge of the blanket to make a mini pillow, “I don’t really have bunches of ten bucks to give you for knowing constellations, so Just tell me what you do know, no need for science all the time.” That last part felt weird for her to say but somethings you just needed to enjoy.

"Lay em on me Denny"

"...No need for science all the time."

He would totally agree with that. He preferred kicking back and just letting everything go with the flow rather than using reason to study on everything. The former was much more fun than the latter.

"Okay, then!" Denny exclaimed, rubbing his chin afterwards. "Hmm...Well, I know about all of the zodiac ones. Y'know, Libra, Scorpio, Gemini, all that stuff. And I also know about Musca, Canis Major, Canis Minor...Fromax, Pavo...I can't list them all off the top of my head, but when I'm out and fishing, then I'd be able to spot 'em in no-time! Well, actually, I'd need a little bit of time, heheh."

A Good Impression || Denny & Vishnal

"Oh! I’m in tenth grade right now; you’re right, it is a big difference," Vishnal said, hopeful that it would be a good switch for him as well.

He sat down on his own adjacent bed, and looked over to his shoulder once more. Popper was still there contently, and Vishnal held his hand out toward him, venturing to start petting him.

"Nice to know, dude. Nice to know," Denny said as he sat up, as he had been able to get his phone at this moment. He started to type something into it, but out of the corner of his eye, he could see Popper approaching Blue. The sparrow hopped a bit closer to his hand and nudged his head against his palm.

"Looks like he likes you, man!" Denny laughed. "I guess that means you've made a good impression on the both of us."

Mr. Fixit (Charles & Denny)

"Broseph?" He rolled the word around in his mouth, unfamiliar with it. "Huh. That one’s new. And sorry. I just… get snappy about my family. They may be blood, but a lot of them are trash."

Sensing the need for a subject change, and maybe an opening for recruitment, the redhead asked, “So are you in any clubs? I’m the president of one if you want to join.”

"Uh, yeah, heh, broseph," Denny put on a grin. He was aware that people didn't usually use that kind of slang as much as they did in some other places, but oh well. What can you do? It was a habit now. Perhaps he would start calling Charles 'broseph' from now on just for the heck of it.

He was able to understand how Charles felt about his family...Or rather, he was able to get the feel of what little information the red-head gave him. But Denny knew that it would be awkward attempting to continue that conversation. He wanted to get rid of it right now, actually, so he was relieved when Charles moved onto a next topic.

"Clubs? Uh..." He looked up and crossed his arms, pursing his lips. Then, he snapped his fingers. "Yeah! I'm part of the martial arts one, and I'm thinking about making one for fishing myself. Oh, but dude, you're a president of a club? Lemme hear about it!"

Crash Landing || Denny & Chelsea

Oh right! Chelsea quickly went to collect her board and came back over to Denny, holding it up to examine it.

"Looks fine to me." She turned it over in her hand, inspecting every inch. She gave a sigh of relief.

"I just got this too. Dirk would kill me if I messed it up." She laughed sheepishly. They hadn’t even been able to paint it together yet.

Denny was eased to have heard that everything was alright with her skateboard. Heck, if anything happened to his own skateboard, then he wouldn't know what to do (except for, perhaps, ask his dad for money to fix and replace it before trying to fix and replace it himself).

Though he didn't know who this Dirk person was, he didn't want to butt in, so he simply continued on. "Welp, that's great to hear! I mean, I hope you don't die and all, but like, glad to hear that your board's hanging in there."

He put a hand in his pocket. "Where were ya' headed to, anyhow? You looked like you were in a rush."

Crash Landing || Denny & Chelsea

"I could say the same!" She tugged at his purple one. "You, sir, are a very fine dresser. I bet you just have the ladies… falling all over you." She laughed at her own joke.

She finally stood up, not bothering to acknowledge the odd looks thrown their way, and offered him her hand to help him up.

"I’m Chelsea, by the way. You can call me Chels." She smiled brightly.

Denny laughed quite loudly when he heard her joke around with him. This girl—she was cool. No doubt about that. He took her offer and stood up with her help. After that, he put on one of his earphones again.

"Name's Denny. Nice meeting ya'," he said, returning the smile right back at her. "How's your board, by the way? Is it scratched or anything?" He would hate to have caused any damaged to her skateboard; that would've been a mood killer.

Starry night || Denny & Reina

"I really don’t know all that much about constellations, just the basic ones. Like um.. orions belt? The three stars in a line.. that seem to be right above us." She had no idea if it was really the constellation, as she finished off the tofu salad.

"How about you tell me about the ones you know?"

Denny had just about finished eating just as soon as Reina had, and was now lying on his back. His fingers traced around the rim of the cup he had been drinking out of as he spoke. "Well, there's a lot. You name it, I betcha' ten bucks for each that I know it."

He let out a content-sounding sigh. "I wouldn't count on a smart explanation from me, though. Not with all of those scientific terms and stuff."

Mr. Fixit (Charles & Denny)

Charles shrugged and continued working. To him it didn’t seem so amazing. Nearly everyone he knew throughout his life was rich, and they lived the exact same way.

"Miss home?" he chuckled dryly. "Are you kidding? That’s why I’m here! Being rich doesn’t mean you don’t have problems. They’re just a different set. Out of my entire family, my sister and uncle are the only ones I’d ever care to see again. I could care less about the rest of them."

"I didn't mean that you didn't have any problems, broseph," Denny said, leaning back. His eyebrows knit. "I was just sayin' that it sounded impressive. I'd miss it, 'cause maybe—...Never mind."

He waved his hand passively. He wanted to change the subject, since it was pretty touchy, but... "Well, yeah, family's pretty weird, isn't it? The only person I'd really put my life on the line for is my dad. So, I might get ya', just a little."

A Good Impression || Denny & Vishnal

Blue? Vishnal had been so caught up, he hadn’t noticed the new nickname before.. he beamed; a nickname was a good sign, and coupled with everything else, it seemed they were going to be great roommates!

"You’re very welcome," he said, a lingering smile on his face. He tensed up as Popper flew near him, mostly out of reflex, but relaxed when he landed softly on his shoulder. Vishnal laughed; Popper was kinda cute.

"Hey, I’m wondering, what grade are you in? How long have you been at this school" he asked. Maybe Denny would have some good advice for him; Vishnal knew he would need it.

Denny plopped down onto his bed, fumbling around in his pockets for his phone. "Hm?" he blinked, almost not realizing that he had asked him a question. He would refer to him as Blue from now on—mostly because he didn't actually know his real name. Ah, but that was alright. "I'm in the twelfth grade. Been here since the tenth! Kinda proud of it, too, y'know. It was a big switch, but it was a pretty good switch."

Crash Landing || Denny & Chelsea

His relaxed demeanor made her laugh and she grinned, not bothering to move from her position on top of him. If he was content to lay there, she was content to lay on top of him. She rested her chin on her hands.

"Gonna have to submit another report to the Softest Landing Zone Federation." She tapped his chest. "Thanks for breaking my fall there. Didn’t mean to crash into ya’."

"I'm totally gonna get a raise," he said, the whites of his teeth showing with his grin. He watched her poke him as he continued to speak. "Aw, don't worry about it, dudette."

With a chuckle, he continued. "And, y'know, what can I say? I'm a softie for girls who can appreciate how awesome bandannas are. Get it?" He raised one of his hands and lightly pinched the girl's red bandanna.

Crash Landing || Denny & Chelsea

Spread your legs, bend them slightly, balance.. balance… she kicked off down the path, the board gliding quickly across the pavement. She quickly took to it, weaving back and forth, even darting in and around people. She laughed, urging her board to go faster and faster. Feeling the wind like this, it was almost like riding a horse. She felt so free.

As long as no one got in her way. Unknowingly, a boy in purple had walked into her path, and Chelsea was going too fast to redirect herself. “Move,” she called to him, a last ditch effort to save them both, but it was too late for a verbal warning. She crashed into him, sending them both to the ground with Chelsea on top. He had broken her fall.

"Aw shit, you okay?" She lifted some of her weight off of him while looking him over with concern.

Denny was whistling along to a song that he was listening to, a pair of dark-purple earphones having blocked his ability to hear anything but his music. He admitted, however...He would have preferred a place with less people to walk around. He shut his eyes for a moment, releasing a sigh. It wasn't that he had a thing against crowds, of course not. It was just that he wanted a nice, peaceful walk along th—

CRASH!

"Woah!" Denny shouted, eyes widening once a stranger had collided with him. Next thing he knew, his headphones were unplugged and he had fallen backwards onto the ground, the back of his head feeling quite an ache. He blinked at the person on top of him, mouth closed.

"Hey there!" He said after a couple of seconds, a wide smile on his face. He put his hands behind his head, looking as if he was relaxing on the concrete. "Yeah, haha, I'm good. Guess I shoulda' watched where I was goin', huh? Now we gotta report a crash landing to the International Skateboarding Force."

Mr. Fixit (Charles & Denny)

"Well…" he paused and thought for a moment. "The food is better, for one thing. French cooking and eating is an art form. Here, dinner is one course with everything served all at once. A formal French dinner has six or seven courses."

Pulling out the wrench from his belt, he set to tightening a few things. Some of this stuff probably bounced around and jangled whenever the car was started.

"Besides, I might not be the best person to ask about normal life in France. My family is pretty wealthy. Normal people don’t have personal chefs or attend charity balls."

Denny seemed impressed. Well, actually, not really impressed, rather he was in awe of what he was hearing. He knew about how fancy the French were, at least, in stereotypes, but hearing bits and pieces from someone who was French and rich was pretty darned amazing.

"Woah, dude," he started, leaning over. What even was a course, anyway? "That sounds pretty amazing. Seriously, man. Especially to me, since I didn't exactly start from the top, haha."

Denny rolled his shoulders back, making mental notes of what Charles was doing to the car. "With a life like that, I'd bet that you miss home a lot. I know I would, if I were you."

A Good Impression || Denny & Vishnal

Vishnal felt a pair of hands on his shoulders as he was halfway to the window. He was spun around, facing Denny’s suddenly unnerved expression as he was told to remain calm. Though startled, Vishnal sighed in relief hearing that Denny wasn’t mad.

He looked on curiously as Denny approached the sparrow, and gasped slightly when he saw the bird so quickly do the same. He nodded; it had thrown him off.. literally. So, was this bird-? Before he could ask, Denny continued his explanation. Popper, huh? Vishnal’s eyes lit up, that was a good name, and he was impressed by Denny’s skill with animals..

Oh, right, pets weren’t allowed here, he had almost forgotten.. “well..” he began, conflicted; Vishnal didn’t like breaking rules, they were there for a reason, right?! But they seemed so close! And he still wanted to make a good impression.

"As long as he stays here where he’s safe and can’t scare people," he said, wide eyed. He wouldn’t want anyone to be disturbed, or have a reaction (if bird allergies existed?) by something he had allowed, nor did he want Popper being injured..

The moments of contemplation that Vishnal had taken made Denny a bit nervous. Though he continued to stay optimistic and hopeful, he wouldn't know what he would do if this guy were to tell on him or something of the like.

However, once Denny heard his roommate's final decision, he felt an overwhelming wave of relief. In his appreciation, the senior gave him a strong pat on the back. "Thanks dude! Thanks so much! You have no idea how much this means to us, Blue."

Popper chirped in approval and flew his way over to the bluet's shoulder, tilting his head left and right once he did so.

The Right Angler At the Right Time! [Denny & Selena]

Awesome? Was that how she spoke as a teenager? It seemed like a million years ago. “Yeah, the bandana gave it away, I guess it just looks nice on tan skin,” she noted shrugging. “Sashimi? I love sashimi too, you’d think I’d be sick of it since I’ve eaten so much of it but it’s just really delicious ♥ ” The dancer grinned wildly running her hands through her hair, “Yeah, you students get to live here but us teachers had to fight for the nearest places to live, I’m not complaining - wait I guess I am complaining a little bit.” She smirked at herself muttering, “I wouldn’t want a roommate much anyhow.”

The walk to the dance hall was short and so they arrived there in a matter of minutes. Selena unlocked the door humming to one of the dance routine numbers and stealthily slipped in, not bothering to turn the lights on. procuring her fishing pool from out of her desk on her way out she bumped into a misplaced table and rubbed at her hip, hissing, “Ouchouchouch…”

Denny had agreed with Selena without hesitation regarding the color purple, how good sashimi was, and how teachers and students were in regards to the area in which they had lived. He found it nice to have a roommate, however. That way, there would always be company.

"I don't know," Denny said as he followed Selena. He stopped at the doorway, however, not sure whether or not he should continue doing so. "Having a roommate is pretty fun. I mean, you get to—"

He heard something collide, paired with a sound of pain. "Woah!" He exclaimed, taking a step into the dim classroom. "You okay? Selena?"

Starry night || Denny & Reina

She took a warm sip of her tea before placing it on the blanket hoping it wouldn’t fall over from the uneven ground. She pulled the jacket tighter around her shoulders, “Much warmer thank you.”

Reina nibbled on the tofu salad it wasn’t the best she had had but she could tell her tried very hard to make this for her. “Isn’t the sky beautiful tonight?”

Denny winked and gave a salute that was similar to one of an American soldier. "Just doin' my duty, ma'am." With good humor, he relaxed himself and took another drink of his tea. He was sure not to be too loud when he did so—even Denny had some manners.

He looked up when she mentioned the sky. The stars twinkled with the background of the serene, tranquil, and yet mysteriously dark night. "Whaddaya know? It is, actually. Can you find any constellations? My tatay—my dad—and I would always play a game to see who can find the most when we went fishing back in our country."

Starry night || Denny & Reina

He had called her that before? she pressed a finger to her lip trying to recall it to mind, with no such luck. She smiled as he spoke a light blush reaching her cheeks.

"Oh! um Thank you! that is very kind of you to say." She smiled taking her cup after he head poured and wrapped her fingers around it, smelled great.

"If you wanted to, I certainly wouldn’t object." She giggled

Denny chewed up his noodles and swallowed again. One more bite, one more swallow, and he replied with his usual joyful demeanor. "Yup, my pleasure and all of that."

At her response, he chuckled. Denny took off the long-sleeved purple over shirt that he wore and put it around Reina's shoulders. "There ya' go. A little bit warmer now?" He took a sip of the tea.

"Rei-rei? that’s a strange nickname.. how did you come up with that?" She grabbed a fork and stirred up the salad, and started eating. Dudette as well as rei-rei this guy is really friendly.

"It’s alright, just a little chilly out here." If they met up again she would have to show up later. "You can make it up to me by pouring us some tea."

Denny had already started eating by the time she had responded. After swallowing (quite loudly), he gave a grin that would put the Cheshire cat to shame. "You didn't notice? I've called you that once or twice before. Cute, isn't it? 'Cause you're like a Rei of sunshine! Haha."

He nodded at her as he started to pour the tea. "Did you want me to do that thing in the movies where the guy hands the girl his jacket?"

Starry night || Denny & Reina

Reina frowned at him, flattening her dress against her legs as she sat up to inspect him. He was really late and he didn’t even have a care in the world. She flicked her bangs out of her eyes and was about to let him have it. When he pulled out the Ziplock container.

"OoooohHHh~ I uh suppose it’s alright, but don’t be late next time okay?" She took the container from him and put the noodle dish in front of him in return. "it might be a little cold now."

"Yeah..." he said, passing a light chuckle. Denny rubbed his neck, embarrassed to have come at such a late time. He had been going through so many trials making that darned tofu salad that time passed like a bullet. He wasn't the best at cooking any food that didn't have to do with seafood. Otherwise, he only knew how to cook very basic dishes. Very basic Filipino dishes.

When he saw the food she had offered, though, his eyes lit up. "Aw, sweet! You're the best, Rei-Rei!" He leaned forward so that he could pick up the food and observe it. "It smells awesome. Thanks so much, dudette!"

Denny stopped for a second, showing a pair of solemn eyes at Reina. "But again, sorry." He seemed to a bit more serious when he apologized again. After a moment or so, he lightened up once more. "It's a bad habit of mine, being late to things...No matter what I do, heheh, I always seem to be late. I guess it runs down my family! Haha!"
