The first rule of studying history is to always try to look for primary sources to check your information, and remember that even those have to be examined critically

The second rule of studying history is that a person can be both one of the worst people to ever walk the earth and a babygirl

Hope this helps!

Thinking about the fact that when Felix Yusupov murdered Rasputin, the only record that he had in his possession, and which he played before his murdering of the nymphomaniac charlatan, was apparently Yankee Doodle.

You’d think a cabaret princess would choose a better hype song…

Give me a 5,000 budget and I’ll make the most historically accurate French Revolution movie ever but on one condition. Everyone but Couthon is a muppet.

About Us (and this Tumblr, I guess)

Hi! "The Robes of Pierre" is literally just me and my friends, and we make history-inspired videos & films.

We started almost four years ago after becoming close in our AP European History class. Our first "film" was an awful class video project about Robespierre (hence, the blog name) We've created a few more short-film style skits (for Marat and Rasputin, respectively) for class projects since then (neither of them were much better than our first video). Now, after creating three awful "films", we're finally deciding to make our first *real* film this year.

The film we're working on is, fittingly, once again, about Robespierre. It's still in progress, and I really have no idea what I'm doing. But, I'm very eager to get insight from as many people as possible, so I'll be posting plenty of things and seeking critique well before the film is done. Also, you'll get to hear about all the writing shenanigans, fear not.

We're also on other socials:

YouTube (in case you really want to watch our old school projects for some reason)
