there is a very real tendency of teenagers with anxiety disorders self diagnosing with considerably more stigmatized and impairing mental illnesses (e.g. schizophrenia, DID, personality disorders), but the best response to that isn't to get angry with them for "appropriating" lol. instead you show them coping resources for the problems they're actually having and deemphasize diagnostic categories in general. if an 18 year old is claiming to have alzheimer's, they're probably making an innocent mistake and are in genuine distress. be kind.

Also I think this trend comes, at least in part, from how brushed aside anxiety disorders can be. If your parents and teachers dismiss you with 'oh everyone feels anxious', then inevitably you're going to start thinking that there must be something else going on with you

”You must feel very scared right now; let’s talk about how to help you personally, tailored to your symptoms” will always be more helpful than “stop faking (X) for attention”. If theyre that desperate for attention or an explanation, something is wrong.

No more insulting people in public over different blorbo opinions no more making 2k long posts on how whatever ship you don't like shouldn't exist we've grown past that shit. Consistent posts about shit that make you uncomfortable? Block. Rancid blorbo opinions? Block. Is mildly annoying in your replies? Block. Pisses you off for reasons so petty you could never admit it publicly? Block. YOUR mental health will improve from not being upset 24/7, THEIR mental health will not be at risk of you lashing out because you happened to catch their posts on a bad day, and EVERYONE ELSE will benefit from not seeing the most embarrassing arguments known to man on their dash. "Oooh but they didn't deserve it-" dude you're presumably running a personal blog as a hobby not a public service. Who fucking cares.

You don't need anyone's approval for the stories you write and the art you create. But it's also absolutely valid to want some approval from your audience. Kudos and likes don't determine your creation's worth. But it just feels amazing to receive them.

Hey hey hey! I can finally post the full version of my piece for Kami’s iwaoi zine! Do you think it’s painful to keep pining for your best friend thinking it’s unrequited? 

just thinking about iwaizumi making tiktoks. nearly all of his videos feature homemade recipes, from vibrant yogurt bowls to stunning pieces of sushi. only his hands are ever shown, skillfully handling knives, carefully peeling garlic, easily pouring the chopped vegetables into the pot, stirring mixtures in pans by the handle, cracking eggs with one hand, rhythmically beating the mixtures with a whisk, kneading dough with firm precision.

he has an overwhelming number of followers and tens of thousands of comments on every video. but despite the frenzy he’s caused (especially since he did a face reveal a few months ago), everyone knows that Iwaizumi is completely taken because in each video is always the same caption that says 'pov: your boyfriend wants this for breakfast/lunch/snack/dinner.' and, in the last few seconds of each video, his boyfriend, Oikawa Tooru, always appears—happily smiling as he takes a bite before giving his stamp of approval with puffed cheeks.

there's a weird misconception amongst some people that the problem with our society is that it's hedonistic and materialist. it's the opposite... nobody is having any fun and almost nobody owns anything

The problem with society is that a very small percentage of people are hedonistic and materialistic and buddy they view the rest of us as materials.

there is this annoying trend where for example someone will like. reinvent phrenology and someone will point out " you know the nazi's believed in that" and then response they'll go "oh so i should make sure my phrenology isn't racist or anti-sematic!" because they don't understand that assigning physical traits to intelligence or morality is still bad no matter what, not just because "people who i know are objectly bad share those beliefs for the wrong reasons" and this happens everytime.

someone will reblog a post that's like "men are genetically disposed to being evil due to their genes and brain chemistry" and than be told "you know this post was written by a terf and they're talking about trans women, right?" and than go "oh my bad" and than post "men are genetically disposed to being evil due to their genes and brain chemistry (this post is not about trans women!) terfs dni" and it's like. ok you know that doesn't suddenly help right?
