βI just donβt!β Sirius insisted, shrugging and looking to his friends. βIβm not saying it like Iβm better than anyone! Itβs just a fact!β
Remus and Peter rolled their eyes, but James was the one to actually say something. βYouβre saying you donβt blush? Not at all?β he asked, narrowing his eyes.
βI mean, I get flushed when I drink or eat something spicy. But I donβt blush or get embarrassed,β Sirius said casually, grinning. βMaybe I just have no shame.β
βWhile I completely believe you have no shameβ¦β James smirked, βIβve definitely seen you blush before.β
βI bet I can make you blush in the next two minutes,β he challenged, narrowing his eyes.
Sirius raised his head. βYouβre on!β
James stood from his spot on the floor, but rather than approach Sirius like everyone expected, he walked over to Remus and whispered something in his ear.
βWhat?!?β Remus whisper-shouted, nearly falling from his bed as he recoiled. βProngs, that wonβt-β
βTrust me,β James said beseechingly. βIf it doesnβt work, Iβ¦wonβt ask you to do my homework for a whole week.β
Remus frowned. βA month,β he countered.
So then, Remus stood, walking over to Sirius with a nervous, slightly-apologetic look on his face. βErm, Padsβ¦β he said, voice shaking a bit. βYouβve got something rightβ¦β and he leaned forward, face only inches from Siriusβs, and used his thumb to slowly swipe at Siriusβs pale skin, staring into his eyes the entire time.
The effect was immediate. Sirius turned scarlet and began blinking rapidly, his breath coming in little puffs. When Remus pulled back, James and Peter burst out laughing.
ββDoesnβt blushβ my arse,β Peter chuckled, wiping at the tears running down his face.
But Remus wasnβt laughing. He was too busy staring with wonder at Siriusβs bright-red complexion. Had he really blushed because of him?
