Hello Bangers!

It's finally time! Sign ups for the R/S Big Bang 2025 are OPEN!

You'll be hearing more from us in the coming days, but for now you can find all of our relevant info on our Tumblr (for easy access, here are links to our rules, schedule, and FAQ).

If you're not yet familiar with a Big Bang, here's a quick rundown: The goal is to bring authors, artists, and betas together to create content for a community and ship we love so much. First, authors will write fics (20-100k words in length) with the help of a beta reader (you may join the fest with a beta reader, or one will be assigned to you). Then, authors will be paired with artists, who will create two art pieces related to the fic. Since this is an R/S big bang, all pieces should feature end game Wolfstar (Remus Lupin x Sirius Black). As a quick note, you can sign up for the fest as an author and a beta, but not as a beta and artist, or as an author and artist. See deadlines below, and use the respective form to sign up!

We will have a Discord, but it may take up to a week to receive your Discord invitation!

Hi Anon! Unfortunately, no. To participate as an author all writers need to have a 20k, completed, publicly posted fic.

Hi Anon!

Artists and writers will be connected in August, and it will be up to the writer to share their draft and any other key details with their artist, which generally lends itself to a good amount of chatting/working together! While we don't recommend writers request specific scenes, pieces, etc. (it's a collaboration, not a commission!), in my experience, artists want to discuss what they're creating with the authors they've been assigned!

Since writers get total creative freedom through the beginning of the fest, we really strive to balance collaboration and artistic freedom for the artists involved.

Hello! Thanks for the question :) You can always list preferences beyond triggers/hard stops, but we won't be able to guarantee they can be taken into account when matches are made since writers are only required to list major tags and potential triggers. If you have something specific in mind and you're not sure if it would be considered a preference, let us know and we can help!

Hi Anon! Your work can be a multi-chapter fic, as long as all chapters are completed and posted at the time of the reveal.

R/S Big Bang Discord Open!

We've officially opened the Discord for the R/S Big Bang. Keep an eye on your email over the course of the next couple of days. We're sending invites out in increments to folks who have completed the sign-up forms. If you haven't received an email from us by end of day tomorrow (March 9th), do a couple of things: First, check your spam folder, there's a chance your invite was mistakenly filtered out! If you still don't see an invite, feel free to reach out here or via email (rsbigbang2025@gmail.com), and we'll re-send your link!

Good question. Unfortunately, the 20k fic requirement is in place to ensure our writers know what they're getting into writing a single long fic, a longer one shot, etc. If you have a fic in your repertoire that gets close to the 20k minimum, you're welcome to reach out to us via DM or email and we'll chat!

We've also decided that folks who don't meet the minimum criteria may co-write with another author who has. This may be something to consider!

Really, the spirit of the rule is to ensure that there isn't another ship with either party that overtakes Wolfstar. Tragedy and open endings are welcome, but we want to maintain the integrity of the R/S Big Bang. We'll adjust that rule with some clarifying language in the coming days!

You'll see an email in the next day or so with confirmation and an invitation to the Discord server. We'll post when we begin sending invites out, and when we've sent invites to the initial sign ups, so keep an eye there! Hi Anon! Good question. While it's not the case that you'll only be assigned to a beta within your narrow age range, it's one of the variables we'll be taking into consideration when assigning betas, alongside things like preferences, triggers, etc. If you, as a writer or beta, have no preference, please feel free to let us know and we'll take that into consideration as well!
