In a way I think the progressive armchair revolutionaries around here are incredibly optimistic, because they seem to think that letting things get worse under Trump will inspire the American people to hold a revolution rather than This Is Fine-ing it through 6 waves of COVID deaths and eventually deciding that boots taste good and this is just the new normal. That's cute.
This is what I said under the first Trump administration and I hate being right.
what's funny is I can go weeks and weeks without wanting to communicate with the outside world in the slightest, can't get up the energy to do anything more than play on my phone, don't shower or dress for a week, let all the deadlines slip by with nothing but a vague helplessness, and have no desire to do anything at all, but it won't occur to me that I'm depressed because I don't "feel sad". I had to just realize it just now, the dumbest epiphany ever.

im one of the angels assigned to guard god's throne and i keep shaving a piece of wood off one of the legs so it gets progressively thinner and weaker until one day it will snap like a matchstick and the big man will topple from his seat of power to grace the ground with his holy ass. of course he's omniscient so he already knows this and will have to banish me from heaven when it happens, but because of free will he has to give me the option to repent right until the very end. we both know i'm not going to do it but the rules that define our very being won't let us take any other course of action and besides he made me this way, so really the joke's on him no matter what.
