This is the first confirmed live observation of the colossal squid, Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni, at depth in its natural habitat. HIII THANK YOU FOR THE ASK :D i'll add a little history of bleeding heart as well to get a complete view of how the town works. i always have so much to say. HERE WE GO
so bleeding heart is located in oregon in one of the national parks, and it was "founded" in 2032 which is 18 years after the initial outbreaks. it's built around an existing campsite, and would've grown in size quickly due to the amount of lumber directly available to build new cabins as well as many capable people who could actually put them together

HI BONES. i've come with questions... where did the virus/infection in bleeding heart originate from? how does it work exactly? how much of humanity is left after the outbreak?

the virus in this universe originates from some seemingly new type of fungus discovered in a french cave somewhere. samples of it are examined in a specialized lab in the united states and soon enough it turns out that it's actually something inside the fungus that has changed a known type of fungus into something new. other flora is later also discovered in the cave, affected by the same sort of mutation
