Y'all are in CULTSSSS
"Do not question our glorious leadership! Blindly obey because they cannot possibly harm us by intent or accident! We never need to police our own, because we cannot possibly do anything wrong!"
You might not be interested in in-group bias but in-group bias is interested in you.
and let's be entirely real here, the only reason the whites are so close together is because they're afraid to say any different. it's obviously a normal and cross-cultural thing to see your own group more positively, and it makes sense -- I don't agree with any ideology that reduces people to demographics (as exemplified by the last screenshot, god I can't fucking stand that shit), but human groups of all kinds have developed in-group identity and bias as a useful evolutionary adaptation to preserving their own societies' cohesion and defending against threats from outsiders.
I don't think white people are uniquely exempt from that, they're just the only ones who have been systematically subject to so much abuse about it that they go against that instinct.
Why Lili?? I meant Lily, i’m just stupid hah
Row only declared Albus gay after the HP series was over. In the books it was ambiguous at best . I also believe that she was forced to make it more explicit in the movies due to all the outcry . Now that it is all about marginalized groups we get Grindeldore to finally happen huh . Same for that other mess Bellamort who only became canon once CC was released cause before that Rowling was apparently unsure what to do with it as with Grindeldore . She decided to cash in and made them happen duh
Anon, your post seems to be all over the place. For starters, HP is from Harry’s perspective. We get Romione’s first kiss because Harry is there; we get to know about Snape x Lily because Snape shares his memories in order to give Harry the understanding he needs. We (those of us who had picked up on it before Rowling stated it) picked up on Dumbledore being in love with Grindelwald because of the wording of many passages and because of the fact that Harry himself felt it. If you imagine us knowing by Dumbledore stating that he’s gay or by fully opening up about his feelings, you probably have not paid attention to who Dumbledore is as a person or to the repercussions that being betrayed by Gellert had for him.
And maybe you have to keep in mind that 10 years ago not only was it more challenging to address homosexuality in novels that were marketed as MG, but it was also not as acceptable.
There were fans who supported Rowling’s choice but there were also many negative reactions and a lot of backlash from what I recall. People tend to forget that LGBTQ representation, even non-explicit, did not always win brownie-points for an author as it does now.
Also, Rowling had said that Grindeldore would be explored slowly down the road before the fans had even started harassing her like they did because of the Depp-situation or because of Yates’ statement. She also CHOSE this story. Do you think that the majority of the fandom’s idea of a spin-off was the World Wizarding War? Because I can assure you that it was and still is the Marauders’ era. Rowling chose the story that seems meaningful to her instead. And, I’m sorry but Rowling had been saying since the moment the outcry started, when she had ALREADY written the script and the filming had finished that the fans who are enraged are judging her script without reading it. She was already hinting that they were jumping into conclusions -as much as she could without giving away spoilers. Your post does not make clear to me whether your problem is Rowling NOT having rep, Rowling HAVING rep when you thought she wouldn’t. or if you’re just seeking to trash anything she writes.
As for Bellamort: 1)if you think that they could have been explicit from Harry’s PoV I think that you have misunderstood how Rowling’s use of perspective worked; and it’s kind of hard to miss throughout 7 books. 2)She decided to cash in? Ok… if we apply that in Grindeldore’s case you’re claiming that she’s queer-baiting her fans and I disagree but I get it. But when it comes to Bellamort? Are you aware of how few actual bellamort supporters are out there and of how many fans headcanoned Voldemort as asexual (which is an assumption that is not based on anything in the actual text and has quite the aphobic undertones IMO)? Who was she baiting in this case?
Finally anon, I would like to point out that one of the joys of reading a good book or consuming a good piece of fiction in general is that SHOWING is better than telling. Having a character’s emotion just named or having his identity labeled is not only bad writing, but it’s actually not innovative or actual rep. THIS focus on a word rather than experiencing the characters’ feelings is much closer to what my idea of baiting and cashing in is. But it seems that these days more and more readers and movie-goers want the writers to throw information at them like a brick.
wow this post truly is an experience
I love writing. I LOVE WRITING. THE ART OF ALL ARTS.
imagine if we talked about weight the way we let leftists get away with talking about secondary sex characteristics. it's totally legitimate and healthy for people to see themselves as a completely different weight than they actually are and you're a bigot if you question it. sizes on clothing are inherently oppressive because it's putting people into categories based on assumptions that don't necessarily line up with how they see themselves, and it might hurt someone's feelings if they identify as a size 2 but the only clothes that fit them say size 16, it's very invalidating and cruel. if someone identifies as transfat, their transition should be respected and you definitely can't go around saying things like "obesity is associated with increased risk of many diseases" because that's super invalidating and transfatphobic. if someone identifies as transthin it's really ableist and bigoted of you to speak out about people dying of organ failure from starving themselves to death. the government ought to pay for ipecac for bulimics and liposuction for body dysmorphics and taking away their total and unrestricted access to these things is literally transsize genocide. schools shouldn't be allowed to teach about nutrition or physical fitness, which are oppressive colonial holdouts and tools of white supremacy, instead they should have subsidised story time with feeder fetishists and anorexics who teach children about how some people just see themselves differently than they really are and that's ok, that's a totally valid lifestyle choice! make sure that the teenage girl who is uncomfortable with her body's normal but awkward development is told about the possibility that she's actually a thin person in a fat person's body and is offered diet pills and liposuction without even informing her parents and CERTAINLY not EVER bringing up the deeply transsizeist suggestion that she should be supported in accepting her body the way that it is and, if there are actual real medical concerns related to her weight, that she see a nutritionist to help her make good choices to get her to a healthy weight. trying to tell her this would be deeply offensive to transthins and if she isn't allowed to vomit after every meal she might become suicidal because of how fat and ugly she feels, we need to protect bulimic kids! what do you mean it's unhealthy to encourage that kind of extreme mental illness? what do you mean it's actually pretty counterproductive to all the body positivity and health education efforts that have been worked towards in the last few decades? what do you mean it's offensive to both fat and thin people? what do you mean, very overweight people and very underweight people may each have increased health risks due to their weight that are not the same as each other's? sounds pretty exclusionary to me, I dunno. why do you want to literally murder people with body dysmorphia?? this is JUST LIKE 1930s germany and if you don't stand up for impressionable, not-fully-mentally-or-physically-developed teenagers' right to starve and puke themselves to death the fascists are gonna be knocking on your door next, you insensitive nazi bastard
scavenging the record shop discount bins for an hour and wondering why the clerk is giving me a weird look until I realise it's probably something to do with the fact that I've picked up a reggae CD (only listened to one song so far because the only CD player I've got is in my car, I got it because the band is playing in town and I wanted to see if I liked them, it's alright but I definitely like early reggae a lot more than later reggae), Blondie's greatest hits, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sings Lohengrin and some youth orchestra doing Tristan und Isolde (two different records), some random lounge lizard type soul singer I don't know but figured I'd take a chance on (no good, all slow), a radio station's top hits of 1965, a British Invasion compilation I grabbed because I liked their suits (pretty good even though I don't know any of them), the Broadway soundtrack of Camelot (I already have this but it's orchestral only and I wanted the singing), and a Mark Knopfler album I haven't got yet (no comment needed, Mark Knopfler is great)
this is not entirely representative of my musical taste, but the Cock Sparrer albums were well out of my price range
to be clear, the article does not say what the toddler did or said. but tbh even if the kid said "die in a fire tranny faggot" they're still literally a toddler and don't actually know what they're saying anyway. we've just allowed the most psychotic element of society to say that hurting their feelings is the worst crime you can possibly commit even if it's a toddler babbling. if it were actually a problem they'd be like "hey bud, where are you hearing these things?" instead of writing them off as an irredeemable bigot at the age of 3 or 4 as if they're a celebrity being cancelled on twitter. these people are a bunch of fucking demented narcissists, that's the problem. no one would give a shit about how someone dressed or called themselves in 2025 if they weren't so goddammned set on making themselves so hateable.
I genuinely think that's a huge part of the psychology of it, society started being a lot more accepting of gays so now the regular run-of-the-mill white people brainwashed by the left into thinking their problems don't matter unless they can claim some marginalised label had to go and up the ante, but then people started to get too accepting of trans people to serve their needs and they had to start making absolute nuisances of themselves to keep the victim complex going. I firmly believe this wouldn't be such a problem if the left would ever give up their dehumanising obsession with creating and enforcing an oppression hierarchy and telling everyone at the top that they're worthless pieces of shit who need to grovel to those at the bottom at all times. I also think that's why radfems like JKR hate trans people, it's just because their own ideology is dependent on them being perpetually the victim class so they can get away with treating men as unfeeling cartoon villains but now the mainstream left is telling them that someone is below them and they're getting a taste of their own medicine. It's a race to the bottom all around.

what on EARTH...I want one
If he can’t grow without leeching off a woman, he’s a parasite.
>men are entitled for wanting to spend time with people who are good influences
Some people really just stop maturing at 16 and think everyone else does too
really tells a lot about a person's own mindset how they interpret this
yeah, true, women don't exist to be character development for men. some people do seem to believe that they are, and they're wrong for it, but those aren't the ones who are going to be doing any 'growing as people.' but I think it fairly screams "I'm a sexist asshole who will never see men's emotions as being as valid as my own" to react this way to something that's literally just saying that it's ideal to find a true partner in life who will help you grow (and you them).
honestly what grates on me is less about them being sexist assholes and more knowing that these are the same kinds of people who go around blaming men for everything while simultaneously shoving down any man who actually tries to improve himself. they don't want you to improve, they just want to be the victims. it's typical punishing the behaviour you want to see. "oh, men are raised poorly, men are emotionally unintelligent, men don't take personal responsibility, men don't understand love, toxic masculinity keeps men from being open about their feelings" but then when a man says something as simple as "I'd like a partner, it would be nice to experience affection" all of that becomes "get a dog, you entitled prick!"
"uhm we're in public there's noise sweetie"
yeah and no one wants you to add to it with your stupid fucking music, no one wants a bunch of motorcycle faggots to roll through with their 160dB exhausts deafening everyone on the block, no one wants the shitbox Lincoln with the 1kW amp rattling every shittily attached body panel with their bass
peak NPC behavior, no thoughts knocking around that empty skull just whatever base desire they want to fulfill at the moment. And you're racist/classist/etc if you want to move out to the country and/or suburbs to get away from these "people" btw
I love when they pull the last bit because no one made it about those things until they did. People who complain about rude and unnecessary public noise are literally just like "have some basic manners and respect for the people around you" and they all crawl out of the woodwork to go "um excuse me?? being obnoxious and selfish and having bad taste is part of my culture???" like alright well just remember that you said it and not me
"What a day, hmm?"
"You look loney"
