Ahh these are all questions I have too!

I think maybe the reason Zenji and Jiro are in different years is simply just because Jiro is younger. I feel like they became ghouls at the same time- maybe one becoming a ghoul to save the other from their demon. Or the Kirisaki brothers just have some sort of biological resistance to demonic particles or whatever that shit Yuri was yapping about.

I doubt Jiro was the Mortkranken captain- he'd be only in his first year then and I don't think the academy would let a first year be the house leader. There probably was some other ghoul who was a 3rd year, and Jiro was their Vice-Captain possibly? I also have a little theory that Mortkranken used to be a no-ghoul house but it's pretty lacking in evidence...

As far as Jiro's memories go, I don't think he really remembers... anything. He never really talks about himself. Though he's also definitely the kind of person to respond to "I didn't know you had x!" with "You never asked."

I think he can remember some general things like his living situation when he was young and how hes never been to a museum before, but the finer details might be a bit blurry for him. I feel like he would remember having a whole ass brother though.... but he hasn't really been asked about Zenji or has had a reason to bring him up. Aside from the note Zenji left Jiro in episode 15 (?). Part of me wants to say "I feel like he'd remember his own brother's handwriting", but at the same time, I personally don't even remember MY brother's handwriting. Or anyone elses. So he could just have genuinely not recognized it being from Zenji.

There was that moment in episode 13(?) where he recognized something that Zenji used to say to him though. Maybe he remembers Zenji to a certain degree - but all the memories are repressed? I really do not know 😭😭😭😭

I am well aware of the fact that Jiro is younger than Zenji by a year, it's just that new student in entrance ceremony are all 1st year (except for Luca(tranfer) and MC(cursed)) So I thought Zenji get in first

But if they really became ghoul at the same time, when Chancellor announced there's a new ghoul to be in 2nd year and the crowd went wild Zenji gonna loves that lol

(I still think Zenji needs to be in Hotarubi long enough for Subaru to change from calling him "Kirisaki-san"-> "Kotodama-san"->"Zenji-san"->"Zenji-kun" or at least he has to be persistent about it enough to convince Subaru in A YEAR)

It's possible the academy let the first year be a captain, I think this is implied Jin is a captain since his first year here. But yes i dont wanna say this but from what I see Jiro now, he really doesn't seem able to be captain.

I'm not sure about being no ghoul house, if their purpose is to study anomalous medicine and ghoul, they would need ghoul in their house at least one, first to be their captain and two to gather anomaly for research because it's likely that they're most capable of capturing anomaly than any other house

YES It's like he recognised that word, and he has a bit weird reaction when MC told him that the doll was borrowed from Hotarubi. Did he also remember his brother is in Hotarubi??

Judging from the jp If the reason Zenji so insists on going on that mission in ep5 isn't because the doll looks like baby Jiro but also has something to do with his past?

But since the word that "kid" and "brother" are something Zenji use to refer both Jiro and the doll im not so sure about this
