so hey friends, it’s bella, ex sasukesun, tumblr is apparently still being ruled by the same cunts it has always been and it will defend people who pick up fights randomly instead of just blocking and moving on, especially if they are harry potter fans. if you guys could please reblog this to help me find my mutuals, i’d be grateful, thanks 💕

i’ll die on the hill that says “sapphic love isn’t inherently more wholesome and pure and saying it does will only hurt lesbian and bi women”

listen. if you go around talking about how much better and moral love between women is because male love is so sexual and bad, you’re not actually doing any good. i know too many lesbians who think they’re predatory just for being sexually attracted to women because #feminism. the idea that love between women is the non-evil sexuality you will only shame wlw for what you claim is evil male sexuality, whether it’s a sex drive or finding women hot or if it’s(god forbit) the masculinity, because these are all traits wlw will have. and you’re not helping.

also just btw- this is introductory TERF rhetoric. the idea that men are inherently evil and are always a threat to women simply by virtue of existence, and that women are inherently purer/safer/more wholesome simply by virtue of being women, is the 'radical feminism' part of the acronym. It's gender essentialism, where "goodness" is given to women, and "badness" to men.

I tried giving “my lost himawari” a try but really couldn’t get into it. I thought it was a fandom classic from how much it was recommended to me everywhere, and would like to learn your thoughts as well

i already dislike anything boruto related because i find the way they got into the situation so ooc and bad so i already avoid it. being boruto related would be a matter of personal taste, but the author treats sakura and hinata as selfless victims, and it always comes at the expense of naruto’s and sasuke’s characterisations.

if you portray sakura and hinata as selfless victims of failed marriages, you must take the blame off of them for ending up in those marriages. but how do you even explain those marriages happened anyway if neither naruto or sasuke ever seek those women? they aren’t attracted to them, they don’t want to spend time with them, they don’t reciprocate their infatuations, they don’t seek their company, or advice, or emotional support, anything. so how do you even explain naruto and sasuke ending up with people they canonically don’t love and who are stated to canonically “love” them?

it’s basic logic

naruto and sasuke are shown to not have any romantic interest in hinata and sakura

but hinata and sakura are shown to have romantic interest in naruto and sasuke and are also shown to seek for their reciprocation, validation etc.

you can’t make them selfless victims of something they want that at the same time is something naruto and sasuke don’t.

if you want to write boruto, which is already ooc, you have to at least admit that naruto and sasuke are victims of homophobia, because that’s the only plausible explanation of them ending up with women they don’t love. and it’s already off because sasuke especially doesn’t care about homophobia in the first place. so how do you make hinata and sakura victims when we already have naruto and sasuke in that position? sakura especially is aware sasuke doesn’t reciprocate her feelings in canon, like- kishimoto allowed us to read sakura’s thoughts regarding that, so you can’t say she’s ignorant about not being reciprocated, cause she isn’t, there’s no space in even making her a victim of ignorance, she willingly puts herself in that position knowing she can’t make sasuke happy. we don’t read hinata’s thoughts about it, but can you really say she’s an innocent ignorant victim? if i said to a guy that i loved him and after everything he doesn’t even acknowledge that or give me a response i would take the hint.

and i haven’t even talked about how dehumanising hinata and sakura treat naruto and sasuke, as idealised versions that exist to reciprocate them, give them something in return, fulfil their fantasies, and not as people who have their own desires and therefore the right to not reciprocate them.

any material that treat hinata and sakura as selfless victims will always have poor characterisations because it goes against the logic of the manga.

it also goes against canon to make hinata and especially sakura so accepting of naruto and sasuke’s relationship and wanting the boys’ happiness above their own. i don’t even like when sasuke is portrayed to act so casually towards sakura and salad, he’s mostly uncomfortable around sakura. which is also something the story does, it downplays how dysfunctional both relationships are. it just feels het fanservice in the middle of narusasu moments.

i don’t get why many of the “fandom classics” are fandom classics for real. well i actually do, mischaracterisation is more popular than actual canon in this fandom and people are crazy for lower than mid female characters because they think they are doing something against misogyny by endorsing them.
