i talked briefly in one of my post about sasuke and haku’s parallels

the thing about sasuke’s character is that he’s not only super self destructive but after all itachi’s manipulation, itachi forced in him the mindset of living for his goals so sasuke only gives his life meaning through them. that’s why sasuke feels like a character that never stops, never takes a break to breath. aside being constantly thrown in awful situations and more trauma, he also can’t rest because he only lives to achieve his goals, nothing else.

when sasuke loses at vote2 he loses his goals and therefore doesn’t see a purpose for himself so he’s ready to end it. naruto obviously talks him out of him and sasuke submits to naruto and his ideology and agrees to help him so stays alive and decides to believe in naruto and the change he wants for the world (if you read the other post you realize how this ties back to how naruto wanted to help haku but for haku was too late and ended up dying anyway)
