cotl modern au where lamb is hired as a caretaker/housesitter by a pretentious rich woman who needs them to look after the house and also take care of her elderly father Ratau who she hates and neglects. Lamb comes from a really poor family and enjoys the wealth they can surround themselves with while there, but soon finds something that's worth a lot more.
Becaude over time Ratau and Lamb start building a strong bond. Ratau turns out to not be demented and is of his full consciousness, (he's just slow to trust and doesn't talk a lot with people he dislikes – like his daughter) but suddenly Rataus daughter wants to put him in a nursing home allthough he wouldn't need it whatsoever just to get her hands on his money.
With Lambs help Ratau disowns his daughter and takes them to live with him, far away from her and they have a loving found family. Which also gives Lamb a new home and everything they've ever wanted :)
Friendly reminder that tomorrow is the final day of submissions for the contest!
Make sure you get them in by Midnight GMT!

Thinking about Little Nightmares again, specifically the respawn mechanic.
When Six, Mono, the Runaway Kid, or the Raincoat girl enter a new area, there is an eye symbol that appears on the bottom right of your screen, to load your "checkpoint". From a gameplay standpoint, that's a generic mechanic. Nothing really special.
However, when you take into consideration that these children appear as if they woke up from a really bad nightmare JUST right where they last died coincidentally-- coupled with the fact that inside the Signal Tower, there is a massive mound of flesh and eyes that's implied to be an eldritch force beyond the concept of time and space, controlling EVERYTHING-- and the angle of the player's point of view that looks as if we're simply observing these children traverse the environments...
(IT'S ALSO CONFIRMED BY THE DEVS THAT THE PROTAGONISTS HAVE A SEPARATE THOUGHT PATTERN THAN OURS. WE'RE NOT PLAYING AS THEM, WE'RE JUST WATCHING THEM. MAYBE EVEN GUIDING THEM TO THEIR DOOM IF YOU WANNA BE META ABOUT IT.)
The respawn mechanic becomes this absolutely genius, yet subtle implication that time is being rewinded by the Signal Tower, in order to accomodate these children (and the players as a whole) and make them learn from previous mistakes. Simply because they have not fulfilled their purposes just yet.
I love this implication so much that I even wrote a fic about it back in 2021. You can choose not to believe it, but I think it adds to the cosmic and psychological horror of Little Nightmares very well.
Hello, I'd like to ask that you spare Mohammed some money. He's been raising money for his family of 5 since last year, the youngest of which is only 6 years old. Israel's violation of the ceasefire, he once again needs help to be able to afford basic goods for his family.

Hi, my name is Mosab , and I’m from Gaza. Life here has been harder than I could ever imagine, but today I’m sharing my story with hope in my heart, because your kindness has already given us so much strength.
This journey hasn’t been easy. The war has taken 25 family members from us—25 beautiful souls we loved deeply. Their laughter, their presence, their love… all of it is gone, leaving behind memories that are both precious and painful. Every day, I carry the weight of their loss, but I also carry their spirit, which gives me the strength to keep going.
Our Journey So Far
When I first reached out, I couldn’t have imagined we’d make it this far. Your support has been a light in these difficult times, and we are so deeply grateful for every single contribution.
But the road ahead is still challenging. Every day, we’re reminded of how much we’ve lost and how much we still need to rebuild.
Here’s what life in Gaza looks like for my family right now:
🏠 Safety: The uncertainty of tomorrow weighs heavily on us.
😢 Loss: The absence of the 25 family members we’ve lost is a pain we carry every moment.
💔 Dreams on Hold: The future feels so far away when survival takes all our strength.
How You Can Help Us Cross the Finish Line Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference:
- $5 may seem small, but for us, it’s a little relief, a moment of comfort, and a reminder that kindness still exists. ❤️
- Can’t donate? Reblog this post to help us reach someone who can. Every share matters more than you know.

Why Your Support Matters Your kindness isn’t just about helping us meet our goal—it’s about reminding us that we’re not alone in this fight. It’s about hope. It’s about survival. And it’s about giving my family a chance to rebuild our lives, even in the face of unimaginable loss.
Thank you for helping us get this far. Your generosity and compassion have already brought us closer to a better tomorrow, and for that, I’m endlessly grateful.
With all my love and gratitude,
Mosab and Family ❤️
