Alright, one last question (for now at least)

Aubade and Vesper came from the same Plex, right? (And I imagine they were either Daycare Attendants or did some other innocuous work) But due to the new owners' really terrible programming (especially on Aubade like good grief) and deleting their old programs and files, they don't remember each other, or their deeper history outside of the brothel. Am I correct?

So, yes, these two were originally your typical DCA bots and came from the same Plex.

However, they do remember one another, though Vesper moreso than Aubade.

Definitely due to the original owner fucking about with their programming, but, although Aubade can't exactly remember those days, it's like a feeling that he remembers Vesper and knows bits and pieces about him that no one else does. And the same goes vice versa. But Vesper does have some brief moments he remembers of the daycare days. Though... Neither of them exactly feel any emotional attachment or need to remembering it now.

A couple questions about your Mafioso au

First, you said in an ask a while back (about describing the au to a friend not in the fandom) that Vesper and Aubade were found in a brothel; I assume that said owners of the brothel were the ones that puchased them, but, uh, for what? Like, were they for *that* or did they just act as security or something? (Feel free to ignore this question if you're uncomfortable answering.)

Second, maybe a dumb question, but why on earth were we/Y/N/the MC in a brothel? And why did Vesper and Aubade stick out so much that they were the ones that got cleaned up and made part of the gang?

These are absolutely valid questions and I do have a little opening thing in my drafts atm to act as a 'general opening' to this AU (Not sure when I'll be done with it but hopefully soon)! It won't be a full drabble, just a brief overview as I don't wanna write something too explicit here, but to give it all a quick description:

1) Why not both? They paid a very hefty sum for a couple bags of bolts, so why not make the most out of them?

2) As for the Y/N (or at least the main version for this AU because I do have some temptations to do alternate scenarios of the boys and them-)... YOU are the Mob Boss~ And a very respected one at that... But when you hear whispers of a couple of automatons in the territory next-door... Surely you would be curious too, yes? /Lh /wink wink

Sorry again for kinda vague answers, but I think my lil opening will hopefully provide all the answers~ and if not, please feel free to send asks my way, I need to get better with words lol XD

So, if Vesper and Aubade went through the same sh*t in the past, why is Aubade so unhinged while Vesper's so (outwardly) put together?

Ah~ Because Aubade was put through Hell first~

When first obtained outside of the Plex, his then 'owners' hooked him up and began erasing his protocols, memories and certain coding whilst adding their own... In the process, leaving him to be a corrupt, glitchy and broken mess.

So when it came to Vesper's turn, they did... A slightly better job. But who's to say Vesper isn't unhinged?

Aesthetically speaking though, a majority of his outward damage has been caused since becoming part of the gang... But he has no complaints about that. It makes him him <3

Are you taking questions about your mafia boys? If so, can I ask how well Vesper and Aubade get along (assuming they get along at all)?

So, for Aubade and Vesper, they... Get along. Just about. They view each other as colleagues and bots who've been through the same Hell as themselves. There is no deeper bond between them.

However, they are one hell of a scary team together. Vesper is the smooth talker between them whilst Aubade is the brute force. Vesper being the ranged and surprise attacker meanwhile Aubade is the manic close combatant.

Though, don't think they wouldn't throw each other under the bus when it comes to their boss. Aubade wouldn't give a damn about making Vesper's office a mess. And Vesper would not care about chaining Auba to a fence and leaving him there all day.
