peeta tried to save him and katniss by saying she had a baby, because he knew that would pull at the capitals heart strings. In a dystopian society, peeta mellark knew the capital would care more about a fetus than the real dying children . this sounds oddly familiar

anyway it’s cool and powerful that a man of colour is using his position as a senator to spend 24 hours straight criticising an administration that’s made it very clear that it will go to devastating and unconstitutional lengths to make everyone who isn’t a cishet white man sit down and shut up
