evil futuretrioshipping where dusknoir possesses grovyle's body in se5 but the world gets saved by hero/partner anyways and arceus brings the dark future back too. unable to process how fall he's fallen for naught and tormented by grovyle's talk of making an impact on the world, dusknoir remains in grovyle's body and keeps on living as him, supplanting his identity until people forget dusknoir is there. Celebi faces him, wanting to put grovyle to rest, but dusknoir persuades her with the proposal of soothing each other's loneliness by pretending grovyle is still there. since celebi cannot bring herself to end her own life (she would not waster her new chance to live) nor sacrifice grovyle once more, she decides to follow along, coldly guiding dusknoir into resembling grovyle more
dusknoir telling her that when he entered grovyle's body, he was still breathing, that surely a brilliant spirit like him wouldn't fall so easily, that the grovyle he so despises would never have let him win, that he's still fighting in there somewhere and that celebi can help him return. both of them deluding themselves into thinking grovyle might be alive somehow and that the right triggers will bring him back or sth

i don't think Grovyle would ever be the jealous type. He'd rather slowly torment himself by assuming his friends will inevitably leave him behind for something better. His partners will gladly show their loyalty anyways, though... Also dw Skuntank doesn't want them in his team he just wanted to do them a solid and unfortunately failed.
