there will be a duke thomas solo in 2025

comic book trend that honestly irks the fuck out of me is when an existing character comes out as gay and they invent a new character to be their partner. like theres nothing wrong with it per se its just that the new boyfriend/girlfriend character is always jarringly bland and uninteresting, especially when compared to the latent homosexual potential that definitely already existed in the story. like thereโ€™s something so deeply unsatisfying about introducing a new side character as a girlfriend for karma in new mutants 2019 when sheโ€™d been having dramatic hand-holding adventures with dani the whole time. it implies such a definite hesitancy to ever make characters gay For Each Other, and the result of that hesitancy is that you donโ€™t get any of the long-term slow-burn relationships that heterosexual characters get (like between batman and catwoman or whatever). instead you get New Relatable Millennial Queer Partner that you have to fight tooth and nail to give a fuck about. nobodyโ€™s doing it like rictor and shatterstar anymore nobodyโ€™s doing coming out reveals that hit like that

once again bringing dick bitching jpv for tim to youโ€ฆdick watching tim, maintaining eye contact with him as he chokes jpv outโ€ฆdick calling tim โ€˜my robinโ€™ as he finishesโ€ฆ o.o

JPV & DICK & TIM theyre so everything.... AUGH in my heart of hearts tim forgives jpv for everything that happened during knightquest and dick feels like he has to make up for that by being angry for the both of them... <3 dick should be soooooo jealous because youre right tim is his robin๐Ÿ™hes sore over bruce asking jpv to take over instead of him and the idea of tim being jpv's robin grates on dick so bad even if it didn't really pan out... and jpv feels so bad about all of it so he's just kind of There <3 i love these guys. ot3 of all time

Anonymous asked:

idk if you like him so feel free to ignore, but if not do you have any nightcrawler comic recommendations?

HI finally answering this sorry it has taken so long T_T

i do not know nightcrawler at all, prior to getting this ask i had never read a single x-men comic. i wanted to read up on him more before answering this but alas finals are eating me alive so i'm going to answer this now and just... add onto it... as i read more LOL

the two nightcrawler comics i read were:

giant-size x-men (1975) #1, and nightcrawler (2002).

from what i understand giant-size x-men is the very first appearance of kurt, his introduction, his first mission with the x-men, all that stuff. i'm not really the best person to be recommending this because i don't typically enjoy big two comics from this time period, but i did think it was a good comic if you tend to enjoy this kind of thing.

and then i loved nightcrawler (2002). like woah! okay! this comic rocks. it's four issues and it's about kurt trying to save victims of human trafficking, and coming to terms with his inability to create structural change as a superhero. he's very charming and interesting here, and this comic does a great job delving into the failings of the "superhero" as a concept. the art is also very pretty. i wasn't sold on kurt after reading giant-size x-men because of my aforementioned disinterest in 70s superheroes, but after reading this i was definitely hooked and i can't wait to read more.

i also plan to read x-men evolution (2001) by devin grayson. it's based on the show (which i haven't seen) and the characters seem to maybe be younger(?) but it's written by devin grayson so i'm very excited lol

ALSO where is my zoanne hype if zoanne has zero fans i am DEAD like guys look at her introduction
