WAHT DID THEY DO TO AZULA WHY IS SHE :3 BRO iroh was right she's crazy and she needs to go down NOW

Spoilers of ashes of the academy below

Hi there! Would like to hear more about the Child. Sorry in advance for the large amount of questions I am about to ask. Feel free to answer only whatever you're comfortable with!

How old is Kanna when Katara finds her? How tall? Kanna's favorite foods? If Kanna had to describe each of her mothers with one word/scent, what would it be? Kanna's favorite memory of Azula and Katara? Did Kanna ever get to call her parents "mom" or some equivalent titles? Kanna looks quite small. If she had to hold Katara's hand or Azula's hand, how many fingers could she wrap her hand around? Did Katara and Azula ever find it cute Kanna's hands couldn't really hold theirs entirely?

When Kanna "dies", what does Azula and Katara miss most about Kanna? I know Azula's relationship gets super complicated with Ursa, but how does Katara feel about Ursa now? Do you think anyone would argue that Kanna wasn't technically even a real child? If so, who would say that? Do they perform any funeral rites for Kanna? What happens with Kanna's clothes? Are they given away to another kid like Kiyi for example?

mmmmm Kanna would probably be 5 when she met with Katara and by the time she met Azula she would always say she was almost seven years old. Kanna would probably be a bit of a below average height child because of her late development(she would have been late speaking too).

Kanna would def take a liking to Muktuk since Katara would always have comforting stories around that dish with her own familyโ€” which would make her feel included. Peking duck(as in peking turtleduck) would be a hard second, Kanna always felt happy whenever she ate those and looked into Zuko's disgusted eyes.

If Kanna were to describe Katara and Azula in one word, she would probably answer that Katara was warm and Azula was weird (affectionate).

When Kanna entered the palace, she began her private classes and understood a bit of the conservative idea of marriage, how the parents should be married before having the idea of having a child. Kanna thought that Azula and Katara didn't let her call them mothers because of that. That gave her a great idea!

For some weeks Kanna (with the help of one or two servants) prepared a wedding (which was more like a tea party). She made two rings out of the garden's flowers to give to Azula and Katara, and got mad with how expensive a real ring could be. The face of the both of them, after finding out why certain servants were laughing a bit more than usual was priceless to Kanna. She used all her child abilities so that Azula and Katara would wear their engagement rings, and it workedโ€” with the exception that she still couldn't call them mom. (Katara would become more inclined to accept Kanna as her daughter, tho.)

If Katara called Azula to go somewhere and she didn't go right away, she would tell Kanna to bring her by the hand, both learned really quickly that Azula would melt whenever Kanna held her hand. (Kanna felt powerful with that).

I don't think people would say Kanna wouldn't be a real child, because in the same way that the avatar always had the face of the previous avatar's beloved, they could theorize that every person who dies will have their face passed to another body.

Azula and Katara would have a moment before Zuko reached the palace with Ursa and kiyi, so... maybe what they will miss the most would be how loud Kanna made everyone be? Kanna would be really quiet at the beginning, but as time passes, I see her as a reckless child. They would miss that and the fights they had over her.

Katara would definitely see Ursa with other eyes. She would be bitter, maybe envious when she sees Kiyi, but she would remain respectful. At the end of the day, it would be pointless to argue since that wouldn't bring Kanna back, and especially because Ursa wasn't even aware of all that.

Katara would def try to give the clothes to children in need, maybe the children from that one village that she helped as the painted lady. What she wouldn't expect was that Azula would keep some clothes for Katara's own children in the future. Azula swears it's because it's practical, but Katara knows that deep down Azula was just saying that Katara will be a great mom.

I haven't thought much about her funeral, sorry !๐Ÿ˜ฟ I'm open for ideas tho ๐Ÿ˜บ

Sokka would be Kanna's favorite uncle since he was the only one who supported her idea of calling her caretakers her mothers.

I hope that's all oof

"oh wow I can't wait to read the backs" "read the backstory" ......fuckkkk the highlight for me in this is that somehow ursa and azula relationship became even more messed up. Those two can not catch a break and also kind love the idea of azula and katara being relucant co parents who don't like each other but then bonding over the lost of the child and they are the only ones who get it.

Avatar

what do you mean? of course they can catch a break! look at those loving mothers with their children.

I think that what would hit Azula the most would be how easy it is to love a child, and still Ursa made it complicated (for her own reasons!)

I don't go to the ATLA fandom much but I am very curious to know more about your AzuTara fankid ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€

OK SO HESR ME OUT

there is a part of the comics where ursa (Azula's mom) gives her face away for the mother of faces right? and she got another one. WHAT IF the mother of faces gave ursa's face to an unborn child? and with some complications (most coming from the consequences of the post war), said child lost her parents? (lost by fleeing or they died, idk), AND Katara finds the child, and takes her under her wing to take care of until she finds an orphanage or a way to get a family to adopt the child.

nonetheless it goes wrong, and that travelling takes her to the fire nation.

That's when Katara joked about the kid looking a bit like Zuko, and asked if he actually had a lost child, which takes Zuko to say "I mean, not that I'm aware of. But to be fair, that child looks more like Azula than me" and the joke started spreading around until it got to Azula (let's ignore half the reason why she would be at the palace), and, to Katara's surprise, Azula actually agrees with it, she explained how unsettling this kid looked like her.

Sokka said it might be some ancient genetics or just coincidence, Zuko disagrees, but he's on his way to search for his mother so that doesn't really matter to him.

With that, Katara actually finds a way to get Azula to help her co-parent the child (aka, Azula became soft for the child). they don't have a friendship, but they have a kid to take care of until they find a good orphanage (they didn't even searched anymore, they got too used to the everyday life to lose it).

The kid was named after Kanna.

Against all odds, Kanna loved her "I'm not your mother" parents, they were caring, and helped her throughout her missed schooling. She waterbended for the first time around Azula, and was excited to show Katara, but she made a plan with Azula to show her other mother in a special moment, Azula didn't see a reason to disagree.

Well, she'll regret it.

With Zuko's long search for his mother with the help of the rest of the Gaang, they actually found her (like the comics), and "Ursa" insisted on having her face back, to remember who she was.

That's the thing, Ursa didn't know the price of having her face back was by stealing her face back from a child's face. The mother of faces was hesitant to give her face back because of that, but by the end of it, the spirit accepted.

Kanna was gone by the time Ursa got her face back, without a body to bury. The only thing that confirmed the existence of Kanna in that world was her toys, the workers who spoke to her and taught her, Azula and Katara.

By the time the Gaang+Zuko came back, they knew something was off. What was supposed to be a welcoming comeback from Zuko's mother actually felt like a funeral.

With Zuko's explanation of how they got his mother back, Azula and Katara had a theory as to why Kanna was gone, and to why Kanna looked so much like Azula.

It wasn't that she looked like Azula, it was that Kanna had Ursa's face.

Azula and Katara weren't friends, they had Kanna as their relationship string, and when that was cut, the only thing they shared was grief.

It takes time until Azula confesses to Katara that Kanna was a waterbender.

I haven't thought about what would happen after :}

can one person ask about my fankid for Azutara so that I can talk about it without feeling guilty? I created such a fun story with the kid I want to show to the world but I'm having a drawing block

her name is kanna

I love reading fanfiction and accidentally taking a look at when it was published or ended and it's like 2009 or less. My cousins are younger than this crusty bible I'm reading, and it's amazing

is that thing really Azula or am i being pranked
