G'joob art in this economy?!? HELL YES!

I've seen so much people doing variants of the monsters in the different islands and that gave me the thought of how G'joobs would look like in different habitats.

For starters I think G'joobs are semi aquatic, or at least have the water as an important element of their day to day (Mainly cause theyre based around pinnipeds and because of the sea of G'green and its link with epic G'joob) So I split them into sea and river ones.

Sea/Saltwater G'joobs are generally not so different to your regular in-game G'joob. Cool toned, with a more blue coloration and with their horns, tusks and spikes being a dark brown. I changed their spots to rings based around ringed seals (I feel they could offer a lot camouflage under the water!) And I made their tusks pointing inward. They spend their days in the depths of the Living Ocean, occasionally stepping out of it to the coasts of Plant Island, where they rest or catch the sun (or both!). Theyre chubbier cause big part of their bodies is blubber, to protect them from the colds of the ocean. Their flappers allow them to be excellent swimmers. Tho their movement on land is a bit... limited. They move with little jumps (like seals!) And along the fact that theyre lazy creatures, is it hard to see them awake in Plant Island (truly a mythical event!) But G'joobs never shy away at the chance to partake in a song in their beautiful home land!

River/Freshwater G'joobs are a little bit different (creative liberties!) I like to think at some point looong ago some G'joobs ventured deeper in Plant Island, couldn't find their way home and eventually found out the rivers deep in the island forests, who they called their new home. The blubber of their bodies slowly made itself more absent, as they didnt have to face any colds. The warm river and its algae started to make their hair greener, and the sun made their horns tusks and spikes lighter. And so here they are! (Mostly based around Sea Lions and strangely... otters?) Theyre very curious and a little more adventurous on land than their Saltwater cousins, so they developed better flippers who allow them to walk on land! Also, their tail and horns are bigger than those of Saltwater G'joobs, an advance which they use as tools for building small driftwood and stone houses for their family of G'joobs along the river. Still, theyre a very rare sight. So if you ever get lost in the forest and see these guys, ITS TRULY A MYTHICAL EVENT! But as always, G'joobs do not shy away! (...although they do always remain lovingly lazy!)

Heres a little more stuff I had planned! (...but mainly brainstorming) if youre interested youre more than welcome to read!

Going along the whole thing of Gjoobs based on pinnipeds, I liked the concept of male G'joobs being sorta like male Walruses. Big big BIIIIG ol' tusks, a bigger than usual mustache (and puffy eyebrows!) Didn't had much in mind for female G'joobs but I feel it would be cool that they have a lot more patters than a usual G'joob (and perhaps... more intricate ones👀) yet still I dont have much of a justification on why.

I've also thought the older the G'joob, the lower the musical range they can archive. Older G'joobs sounding similar to a subcontrabassoon and baby G'joobs sounding like tenoroons (sorry lemme brainstorm, soon to be instrumentist here and thanks to G'joob I discovered the existence of those two Basoon variants!)

If yall know my MSM Interpretations/OCs you should probably know about Muirchertach, The Marine Merchant G'joob. Well, for example, I had a thought his mastery of music and old age let him reach very low notes (I dont think as a subcontrabasoon yet, but surely a contrabasoon!) I feel he uses low entonations to tell the ports if his boat is aproaching (basically, he's his own boat horn!)

Thats it for today! Hope yall enjoy!

It happened spontaneously, but now I love them

(Note: Yawstrich here is a girl 🥰)

And Strombonin is quite silent and it is difficult to get any emotions from him, but this does not prevent him from loving and showing signs of attention. In his silent way. But this emotionless taciturnity doesn't bother Yawstrich at all

Strombonin looks a lightly depressed... but maybe he is (:

I love the 'organic monsters' AU sm... are you doing designs for any other species of monster, or just the Wubboxes? There's a lot of interesting potential trying to make something like a Kayna or a Reebro more biological...

AHHH THANKS!!! i'm probably gonna focus on the wubboxes mostly bc if you couldnt tell (/lh) they're my favorite monsters but i do have some ideas for others/the world as a whole i'd like to share at some point!!

the text didn't render properly but uh. i did attempt to make a "tree of life" of sorts for this universe aljkgsdkglsk. dreamythicals, celestials, titansouls and paironormals aren't included because i was thinking they'd be from myths/legends rather than real monsters, plus i couldn't figure out how to make the shugafam, wublins, and ethereal workshop guys make sense so they're excluded completely for now

like i said i do have more ideas that are just. currently half baked and shoved in a google doc but if there's anything you specifically want to know about i'm up for answering more asks about it >:]c

I am in need to talk about msm urgently. With whoever comes across my path. The msm virus IS CONSUMING ME. I've been bingewatching MPG vids since I woke up aahhgdhcbdhcn

If anyone here likes the silly monsters dont be afraid to ask me or dm me something related to it cause I WILL go crazy and yap (and worse if the mythicals are involved)

Idkkk its just. After 3 years in the fandom (and the help of a friend that pointed it out) im starting to realize how meaningful it was for me to get to know this amazing game and to make those very sad and lonesome 3 years less lonesome! From getting to know the game from memes, to starting to play it in vacations, obsessed with strombonin and with the cold island song. To see the creation and advance of mythical island in all of its glory, and seeing my at the time favorite fella Strombonin find some friends (who then became one of my favorite monsters of all time), creating countless stories, or laughing loudly in the middle of class with my friend by made up scenarios and inside jokes of msm characters. Those things slowly started to get me out of my shell, to unconsciously express myself and be more unique!

After all, My Singing Monsters is all about being unique, about all monsters uniquely contributing to make a song! It resonates so deep in me,, Im proud a thing with such powerful message got me up in those years, and is helping me now! Ohh if I knew how to send letters to big blue bubble I would, without a doubt, do it. And congratulate their amazing job with such amazing game🥺💙

Heres a drawing I made cz I got sentimental...me and my favorite mons!!

and as a bonus some of my earlier drawings I made in the msm fandom!

I dream of one day told my silly story of the mythicals through a comic or through an animation like Plucks of the Cradle, but I know I am too damn perfectionist to do that in the first place

i have a cat (5 months old) who is very cuddly and likes to sit on my lap when i game. whenever i play msm and she hops onto my lap very sleepy i always get done with whatever im doing and pull up my cold island, which is slowed down and imo is very calm and perfect to nap to. she’s fallen asleep on my lap while the song plays multiple times and she’s my daughter and i love her. also she’s tried to attack the monsters on the pc screen lol
