SHOW. THOSE. BATTLE. SCARS.
Happy Trans Day of Visibility
โหโก The feeling of a fallen star โกหโ
"Bear sits in a field at night alongside fallen stars that had pierced the earth and began to smolder. One star had pierced their chest - straight through their heart - and had began to burn inside of them. Caressing the star with one hand, a thought came to their mind; "I pulled you down from the sky. I pulled you down to earth. From the sky I can never touch to the earth that I'm bound to. This feeling is overwhelming to me, its hot and its burning. It hurts but I'll hold onto it. It might burn away in the end but at least I have it now."
Artwork warm-up of the week! Damn at this point I should just start an anthology or artbook or something on this subject.
โหโก Your star in my eye โกหโ
"I see you, oh boy. Your troubles are miles away. I see you, oh boy. And in my eye you'll stay~"
"Bear sits on their knees in a barren wind-swept field at night. With hands at their sides a star burning into their right eye as their left iris melts from the intense sensation, down their cheek in a golden streak as if to form a cry. Keeping a star in your eye - especially someone else's - can be painful and destructive but the warm burning sensation was a comforting feeling for Bear. Even if it could be seen as destructive. It was a piece of something so precious that it felt worth holding onto until the time felt right."
Sometimes the story isn't about you, its about me. But I think its a relatable feeling. I love drawing emotion, it helps getting through a feeling to express it and share it. Maybe someone has felt this emotion before.
So anyways, that's my weekly warmup :')
Also, I'm not very good at writing stories so hopefully my grammar isn't too bad.
An illustration piece I still really enjoy that I made for Ciona on Bluesky in 2022!
This was one of the earlier pieces that got me back into digital painting again.
