#i’m not a dog expert or anything but the biggest red flags for me are people who don’t let their dogs on the couch#and poorly behaved dogs#like jumping on people/excessive barking/stealing food off people’s plates etc#poor leash training#dogs NEED structure they WANT to be trained and it’s irresponsible not to train them#every dog can be a good dog as long as you put in an ounce of fucking effort#and if you can’t let your dog on the couch. do you even want them around their world is very small and you control all of it#are they not allowed to be near you or be as comfortable as you#not even getting into how completely unenforceable that is but#our family dogs have always been crazy spoiled they’re allowed in bed with us if they want they have (almost) free roam of the house#they have their own toy box they get new toys on the regular they go hiking on a daily basis they have fancy orthopedic dog beds#but they are good dogs. because we worked hard to TRAIN THEM!!! they don’t do anything without permission#they are gentle and safe around kids and the elderly#they can be walked on a leash with just your pinky finger#they know we’re the boss and they know what they’re allowed to do#did not realize i had such a rant packed#like. you just have to treat animals like living beings with inner lives as full as yours i think

the worst part of "you'll understand when you're older" is that you really do understand when you're older

The second worst part is, once you get older, you find yourself saying "you'll understand when you're older" with Full Comprehension of how fucking annoying you're being right now, but also knowing that it's all you can say.

The biggest “your experiences are not universal” thing I feel is whenever anyone talks about the universality of girls planning their weddings since childhood because. Well. Not me. God bless

what’s a cover of a song you think is genuinely better than the original song? mine is archie, marry me by flyte

#peter paul and mary’s version of early mornin rain is the first one that comes to mind for some reason#a lot of ‘covers’ i like are from the era of 60s standards where everyone recorded the same songs so there’s a million versions#i like nico’s i’ll keep it with mine better than the original#basically every bob dylan cover cher did#and joan baez’s don’t think twice it’s all right is obviously the best one#and lest i forget the cover of all covers janis’s me and bobby mcgee which negated any other version ever existing#honorable mention is the chicks’ landslide bc it’s not better than the original but it’s just as good

#for years it’s been bc i can’t stop messing with them and am always breaking or biting them off#but lately it’s bc i started playing guitar again and now my fingers are callus masters
