Telling tbh that nanotech hype hasn't even made a comeback. If you asked singularitarians 20 years ago which was gonna come first, AI or the gray goo, many would've said gray goo. This new generation of pseudo-rationalists don't even know about the gray goo.
When it comes to "AI" it would be enormously beneficial for all involved to stop importing mystical concepts in discussions about computer programs. I know computer people want the whole universe to be a computer so that they can stop having to think about death, but it's been ridiculous to see plain old obscurantist terms like "emergence", which has a particularly noxious use in philosophy of mind where the aspirations of digital golem studies are relevant, be used to talk about a set of instructions executed by a digital computer.

broadly speaking I agree with anti-psych takes on this website, but I do roll my eyes whenever someone describes psychology-as-a-whole as a "pseudoscience"
part of this is that it strikes me as throwing the baby out with the bathwater - "psychology" encompasses a lot of different things, ranging from unfounded speculation to useful heuristics to objective observations of what is likely to happen to a person or animal given certain stimuli or injuries
but the bigger issue, imo, is how it implies that "real science" isn't ever wrong, bigoted, or shaped by political/economic conditions
Probably the best predictor of support for Trump is how comfortable a person is in society, and this is especially the case in the second term. "The MAGA movement" doesn't require any effort from its supporters, just a vote every four years and rallies to spectate. It's a passive movement, where what the leadership (at this point, the reactionary fragment of the ruling class) wants is what's expected to be supported. MAGA supporters are relieved of the burden of having to think for themselves and assured that Trump will figure it all out.
There are no public meetings to attend where policies are discussed and voted on (those all happen at Mar-a-Lago and don't really involve any voting). There isn't substantive feedback from the bottom up, except to understand where the rank-and-files' grievances are and how they can be manipulated. It's completely top down, with an obligation to conform to the political line established by the Mar-a-Lago set enforced by penalty of social exclusion and ostracization.
US states’ main import partners
Canada emerges as the leading import partner for most states, particularly in the Midwest and Northeast. China is a significant partner, especially for states along the West Coast and parts of the South. Mexico is the main partner for several Southern states, such as Texas and Arizona. Other notable partnerships include Germany (e.g., South Carolina), South Korea (Alaska), and Switzerland (New York) Partner:
