in which i will only post the mania-driven ramblings of my postcanon deprived brain and maybe a coherent statement regarding HS characters or the narrative. or Whatever it's not like i get to choose what to obsess over for a few hours until Something that could *possibly* be worth mentioning decides to make itself apparent

Returning to the topic of shoes for dicks:

Cobbler (shoemaker) and milliner (hatmaker) are grouped together here because they're both things that go on the "head", adding onto Harry's preoccupation with the head / "head". The rest of this paragraph relates to sex too.

Dabble means to 'make wet by sprinkling a liquid', so him dabbling in 'accessorization' (things applied to the dick) is a joke about him using a condom. A 'bit' is also a tool applied to the head of a drill to bore holes, 'whizz' suggests fast movement and the needle and thread relating to sewing / sowing, once again evoking condom usage.

'Amateur productions' is teen pregnancy, and their unappreciation of Harry's accessories is a distaste for condoms. It seems Harry wants to prevent unwanted birth due to John abandoning him.

And as Imode says here, Harry isn't scared of being in public so much as he is speaking in public, and speaking is birthing the baby. It's shown in this panel too, as he nervously stares at the microphone held up to him. Harry's reluctance to perform in productions despite wanting to is because he's scared of accidentally creating a baby that he doesn't want. Avril putting child-star together also makes me think the stars he's associated with are supposed to be children. Makes sense to me, since the most notable stars in homestuck are suns, a homophone of son.

And of course within the star (sun) embedded closet is a figurative son embedded with a little star of his own, who has also been neglected. Harry then, ironically, decides to become involved with his bunny again at the same time John decides to become involved in his son's life. Repeating cycles...

???? Harry's described as looking just like Lil' Cal in Candy 27. Vrissy asks him how he got out this time, and he tells her 'fucking gamzee'. If this is implying that damn puppet escaped containment because Gamzee yoinked him out of the void again I'm gonna be so joyous. I miss this puppet please bring him back

I would speak my thoughts on this topic but I'm pretty sure I've already figured out where Gamzee is and how he's doing, I just haven't had the time to write about it yet. I'd rather get it all out on one post

Just realised Tavvy's commas are supposed to be sweat droplets

So Tavvy = Gamzee's redemption arc, which suddenly makes this line reaaally interesting. Tavvy thinks that Gamzee's been putting his thoughts in his head, but I hadn't considered that this might go both ways. I was pretty curious as to why they had a few interactions in Candy, but now I'm thinking Gamzee might hate himself?

It might not be applicable to everything they say within eachother's vicinity, but interpreting Karkat as Tavvy (or, at least a projection of what Gamzee thinks Tavvy thinks of him) seems to work for their conversation in Candy 20.

From the start of their argument, Gamzee repeatedly calls Karkat his 'brother', which wouldn't exactly be too inaccurate of a symbolic descriptor for what Tavvy and he have going on (the implication they split from the same body). After this argument ends, Karkat storms out and Jake immediately strolls in with Tavvy.

'You can't get mad at me because I redeemed myself' in regards to Gamzee is a sentiment Tavvy feels he has to abide by in Candy 18. Karkat also brings up Gamzee licking dirt off his feet, which he infact does attempt to do as Karkat says this. Gamzee ends up actually doing this to Vriska in Candy 32 - another character who was being momentarily used as a substitute for Tavvy.

Whether these are Tavvy's actual thoughts or what Gamzee believes Tavvy feels towards him (or will eventually) is another question... Obviously not literally Tavvy's thoughts at the time present as he's a toddler then but moreso as a ghost haunting him. Regardless the important part is that Gamzee definitely knows that Tavvy really fucking hates him.

Another moment where Gamzee interacts with Karkat, or attempts to do so. Since it's Candy 32 this can either be read as literal or symbolic. If we're thinking of Gamzee doing this of his own volition then he either hates himself for having sex with Vriska or would hate himself for having sex with Tavvy. If we're reading this as Tavvy projecting, then he may believe that Gamzee would hate himself for doing that with him, or that he hates himself for thinking of it. It's vague again but the self-loathing is there.

Also I like how 'hot n heavy horseplay' makes it sound like one of those fake horse costumes with two people in them. The body of two being disguised as the body of one. Hehe

Anyway I can't find much to say on Candy 15, since it's mostly just insults and 'FUCK YOU's but on the topic of Tavvy this line sticks out to me:

I like to think on the rare occasion Jane kicks Gamzee out of her room he curls up under Tavvy's bed and sleeps there like a sad dog
