Funny thing is very few people on Twitter started calling Knife as Butter Knife as a nickname for him and I thought that was really cute 😭 For Suitcase as a Safe I wanted to make that the idea but my oomf already made something similar to what I had in mind, so I just wanted to make my swap au designs as simple and similar as the canon designs 🥲🥲

I have no lore come up for them really, I like to think about scenarios with them most of the time :( Quest is just another object coded by Mephone that just so happens to fall in love with a blade /SILLY
I think their own struggles are similar tho, being perceived/pushed as something they want to change from ..... They understand each other in a way. Their presence is there to connect emotionally whenever one doesn't feel like they are. well. their own person. Thinking about that is lovely for me ,,,
I really only think about their quality times together, all the different scenarios I picture in my head always get me so. giggly 😭 they're spending their time together and loving each other for who they are and how they're always gonna be there to understand one another deeply

It means a lot to me :D Second of all, as a Knife enjoyer myself (and getting a bit angsty here) I’ve seen some people talk about Knife’s self-loathing with him admitting he’s broken in II17 and other lines of dialogue that show that he doesn’t seem to like himself very much and I wanted to hear your thoughts on that :) You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to I just was curious and wanted to ask. Ohh yes I sort of talked about this on Twitter! I believe that Knife is somehow insecure about how people expect him to be what they see him as no matter how he tries to act about it. He's trying to be nice? Nah he'll always be a jerk. He's being a jerk again? You should try being nice more Knife!
Me and some people in a server also discussed how it was said that he's also afraid of dying, which we discussed that he decides to become this protector so that he won't feel alone in being fearful of the things that could possibly happen in the future of II, especially with Suitcase. It's as if— projects his fear onto her to relieve himself, he wants to help so that he can help himself. But when Suitcase said "I never needed your protection.", it was like a breaking point for him.
Again, he's under the expectations of how people see him as from the past or how they want him to be shaped without seeing his efforts on actually changing.
Oh yes also I think he personally felt very hurt just to see that his "change of heart" was actually encoded into him, just another expectation for him to follow. In which he starts to think that his change wasn't real and that his efforts of looking out on others was not out of genuine empathy. He's devastated that not only he's real, but his own development wasn't either.
Your season 1 knife design is super adorable!! Very 2011 in the best way possible!! Like he wants to dress alternatively but he doesn’t know how to and hasn’t discovered punk yet very cute ouuu…

I was like. a month old when I realized that the change from his Season 1 clothing and his Season 2 clothing is so drastic it's unreal LOL... I like to think he was exploring around to make himself look cooler, stepping out of his comfort zone and stuff (removing his beanie, getting tattoos... etc)
