➸ “This is a sentence.”
➸ “This is a sentence with a dialogue tag at the end,” she said.
➸ “This,” he said, “is a sentence split by a dialogue tag.”
➸ “This is a sentence,” she said. “This is a new sentence. New sentences are capitalized.”
➸ “This is a sentence followed by an action.” He stood. “They are separate sentences because he did not speak by standing.”
➸ She said, “Use a comma to introduce dialogue. The quote is capitalized when the dialogue tag is at the beginning.”
➸ “Use a comma when a dialogue tag follows a quote,” he said.
“Unless there is a question mark?” she asked.
“Or an exclamation point!” he answered. “The dialogue tag still remains uncapitalized because it’s not truly the end of the sentence.”
➸ “Periods and commas should be inside closing quotations.”
➸ “Hey!” she shouted, “Sometimes exclamation points are inside quotations.”
However, if it’s not dialogue exclamation points can also be “outside”!
➸ “Does this apply to question marks too?” he asked.
If it’s not dialogue, can question marks be “outside”? (Yes, they can.)
➸ “This applies to dashes too. Inside quotations dashes typically express—“
“Interruption” — but there are situations dashes may be outside.
➸ “You’ll notice that exclamation marks, question marks, and dashes do not have a comma after them. Ellipses don’t have a comma after them either…” she said.
➸ “My teacher said, ‘Use single quotation marks when quoting within dialogue.’”
➸ “Use paragraph breaks to indicate a new speaker,” he said.
“The readers will know it’s someone else speaking.”
➸ “If it’s the same speaker but different paragraph, keep the closing quotation off.
“This shows it’s the same character continuing to speak.”
omg this is so helpful
!!!!!!!
Amazing.
Semi-autobiographical. Thank you to @namelyjamie for bringing me a ruler.
Pencil and inkwash.
I love all of @anticmiscellaney art. But, this one is particularly special having been there for the ruler passing.
I started a new play-through. Had to try out the dark urge and it didn’t feel right to do another run with Zynn as urge. So, everyone meet Gideon Goldsong (at least he’s pretty sure that’s his name…) my (sometimes) resist durge Bard.
I would romance someone else, but that’s impossible. Especially after meeting Astarion and imagining how this would go.
Also playing with an old art style that’s a bit faster for me. More soon.
The boys are having a relaxing lounge at camp and letting the others do the work.
Way does Zynn(Tav) always have to go out? They deserve a bit of camp time too.
So a free tool called GLAZE has been developed that allows artists to cloak their artwork so it can't be mimicked by AI art tools.
AI art bros are big mad about it.
Seeing as Twitter is gonna legally steal your work now, please use glaze to protect what you make.
Using both Glaze and Nightshade would corrupt the generation of pictures mimicking artist AND mess with the AI's recognition of what everything is. Like it would generate a dog when you ask for a cat.
And it would be hell for AI bros to remove the cloaked pictures from their database ʕ 👀人ʔ
I just wanted to draw them cuddling. Zynn knows they have work to do, but Astarion is having none of that responsibility bullshit.
ATTENTION ARTISTS OF TUMBLR
since tumblr is going to start scraping blogs to train ai be sure to glaze and nightshade your art!! Not only will both of these programs protect your art from being copied but nightshade also poisons any ai that tries to steal it
here is some more info on these tools and where you can download them:
Gale is annoying the boys. Zynn is willing to put up with it to avoid cooking… the singing, maybe not.
A sweet Astarion & Zynn for some late Valentine’s Day wholesomeness.
I'm currently participating in a challenge for concept artists, so I'll be making more original art. The theme of the challenge this year is "The Dark Lord's Rebellion", and of course I wouldn't miss that.
There'll be lots of demons, monsters, angels etc. All the stuff I draw in my free time.
This is the main character, Dark Lord himself with his weapon (that's what I came up with).
