The thing about Chris Sturniolo’s girlfriend was… she was never actually a secret.
She wasn’t hidden. She wasn’t stashed away. She didn’t make Chris sign NDAs before hanging out or hide behind the kitchen counter when they were filming. She just didn’t push. No “soft launch” pressure, no “when are we going public?” texts, no thirst traps hoping for a repost.
She was content sitting off-camera, ankles tucked under her on the couch, watching the chaos unfold in real time. Her laugh—light, a little squeaky—was the only thing that ever made it into the videos. Sometimes, if fans listened closely, they’d hear it just after one of Chris’s offhand jokes.
At first, it was just the usual noise. Another laugh in the background. Could’ve been Nick, could’ve been Matt. Could’ve even been a crew member or a friend. But then it kept happening.
Same pitch. Same beat. Every time Chris said something stupid.
“I swear there’s a girl laughing in the background of every video,” one fan posted on TikTok. “Every time Chris says something dumb, there it is. The laugh. WHO IS SHE.”
The comments lit up:
“LMAOOO I noticed that too!!”
“It’s giving girlfriend energy 🫢”
“Chris got a girl and didn’t tell us??”
Chris noticed the chatter. He didn’t say anything. He just smiled a little wider the next time she laughed.
The story that blew it all wide open wasn’t even anything dramatic. It was a random Instagram post on Chris’s story. Nothing fancy.
Just a short video of him in sweats, socks mismatched, trying to do that dance Nick had bet him he couldn’t get right. The kitchen lights were too bright, and the music was slightly off-beat, and Chris was clearly making it up as he went.
But the best part—the part that everyone latched onto—wasn’t even him.
It was her. Behind the camera. Giggling.
Not a quiet, polite laugh. Not a performative “look at my man being goofy” type of sound.
It was real. A burst of joy, unfiltered and messy, as if she’d tried to hold it in and failed.
Chris glanced at her in the video—just barely—and grinned mid-dance. “That bad?” he said.
She laughed harder, the camera shaking a little.
And that was it. Fifteen seconds. No tags, no captions. Just her laugh, his grin, and a little piece of their world leaking out for everyone to see.
TikTok lost it.
“She’s real???”
“Chris’s mystery laugh girl IS REAL AND HE LOVES HER I’M CRYING.”
“The way he looks at her when she laughs. No one talk to me.”
He didn’t make a statement. There was no big reveal video or relationship Q&A. He still didn’t tag her. Didn’t need to.
But fans started spotting her more often. The back of her head in a mirror. A pink hoodie sleeve that definitely wasn’t his. A “babe” whispered off-camera when he forgot his phone again.
And still, she didn’t push.
She’d sit in the background, giggling at his jokes, watching the boys film, her laughter the only thing she ever really gave away.
And that was enough.
Because Chris? He never hid her.
He just didn’t need to announce her to the world
When she was already his favorite part of it.

this is my first fic (and maybe the last) ever! enjoy!
Golden light peeks through the blinds as you and Matt cuddle on his couch, your head resting on his chest, sharing a warm fluffy blanket. A light gasp escapes your lips, "aww how cute", you mumble to yourself as you scroll on your phone, liking the video in front of you. The reaction from you peeks matts interest, eyes now on your phone instead of his. He watches you scroll through countless videos of little baby-like figures. "Whatcha watchin sweetheart," Matt says, gaining your attention. "Sonny angel unboxings, look!" You reply sweetly, shoving your phone in his face, "see this one's wearing a strawberry hat! isn't that cute!". "They look a bit creepy, don't you think?" he jokes, raising a brow playfully. "No, they are cute! I NEED one of these for the keychain on my purse!”. Matt hums and nods, not drawing too much attention to it, forming a plan in his head.
Matt internally groans, searching all around two malls at this point looking for these baby figures you were raving about. Eventually, he finds a small store with many cute stuffed animals in the window. This place has to have something. He walks up to the front and looks into the display case. He spots two sonny angel blind boxes as an employee of the shop comes up to him. “Need help finding anything sir?” she asks, smiling at him, “Yes actually, can I get those little…. baby boxes?” he replies grinning, forgetting the name of them. The worker smiles along with him, getting the boxes for him and ringing him up. He sighs in relief, finally finding what he’s looking for, super excited to give them to you.
“Sweethearttttt” Matt melodically says into your apartment, letting himself in with the key you gave him. You emerge into the living room, giving him a hug and a kiss as he hands the bag to you. “Aww thanks baby” you say, opening the bag and gasping, “You did not!” you say beaming, taking the blind boxes out of the bag. “I knew you wanted them so I found them for you”, Matt replies, loving your reaction to the somewhat small gift. You squeal from excitement and drag him to the couch to open them with you. The both of you each take a box and see what character you want, you pick the tomato one while Matt picks the chicken one. You both close your eyes and open the bags to reveal the figures. The two of you count down and open your eyes, looking to see who you got. Matt revealed the tomato, and you the chicken. "What a coincidence babe!", you say your smile wide from sheer excitement. The both of you lay them next to each other, taking a picture of the new sonny angels you both have. "Do you wanna switch sweetheart?" Matt asks slight smile on his face. You nod quickly, handing each other the angles you wanted to end up with in the beginning.

You and Matt were tangled up together under the covers, his arms wrapped around you tightly watching a movie. Your legs were intertwined, your forehead resting on his chest, you could hear his heart beating fast.
You glanced up at Matt, lifting your head off his chest.
“I love you” you said, eyes full of love.
“I love you too, baby” he gently smiled back.
You leaned up to kiss him, slow and deliberate. Your hands brushing against his jaw to cup the side of his face.
You felt his one hand fall on the small of your back, pulling you in closer. He was kissing you like he had all the time in the world.
What started as soft quickly turned into something deeper, more urgent. Your tongues dancing together. Your bodies already knew what they wanted.
Matt broke the kiss just barely, breathless, his eyes locked on yours as he peeled off his shirt throwing it to the floor.
He then had his lips trailing along your jaw and down to the curve of your neck, kissing you there with a quiet urgency. He loved watching you react to every single touch.
A soft moan escaped your lips as his mouth found that one spot on your neck, the one that always made your breath hitch.
You moved Matt away gently, then climbed up, straddling him, placing your knees on either side of him.
You began to move your hips slowly, the gentle friction sending sparks through your body, as you leaned down capturing his lips in a deep hungry kiss.
His hand grabbed the back of your neck, gripping it firmly, and the other hand clenching your hips to help you grind harder and faster.
“Fuck- Matt” you whined.
A deep husky sound rumbled through his throat against your lips.
*knock knock knock*
You both pulled away from the kiss fast, and you pulled yourself off of him, heart pounding as you heard the urgent sound of knocking at Matt’s bedroom door.
“Yes?” Matt yelled across the room.
Chris’s voice came through, firm and demanding, “open up!”
“Aw fuck, sorry baby” Matt said letting out a huff as he leaned down and grabbed his shirt off the ground, throwing it over his body.
Matt walked over to the door, and opened it slowly. Chris sticks his phone in Matt’s face.
“Look what Nick just sent me” Chris said laughing, showing Matt a meme.
Matt looked very unimpressed.
