@simsontherope / simsontherope.tumblr.com

Hey, bienvenue chez moi ! You can call me Rope, I'm a french Sims 4 player, who spends most of his time building lots and creating sims!

Welcome here!

Hey ! Hi everyone, you can call my Rope, I'm a 31 years old simmer from the south of France. On this simblr, I share houses and community lots, and also some sims (families or townies). I used to create custom content (clothes for male Sims mostly),but I don't do that anymore (as I play without CC).

If you want to download my creations, have a look at this page.

I hope you enjoy your visit here!

SFS Hack

For the sake of keeping this a bit shorter I've decided to create this post and link to the original, much reblogged post about this matter. its contains a lot of info thats definitely worth a read(!) but for now: Factsheet:

  • SFS uploads are currently NOT possible (see above).
  • CC (custom content) files ALWAYS end with .package.
  • Script mods files ALWAYS end in .ts4script
  • On Windows: if a CC folder on SFS or downloaded zip file contains a .exe do not run it! immediately remove it and empty your trashcan/bin.
  • On Mac: If a CC folder on SFS or downloaded ZIP file contains a .dmg do not open it and drag it into your App folder! Immediately remove it and empty your bin.
  • For creators: change your password if you have a SFS account, always use a randomly long(!) generated password (LastPass, Password (Apple)!

My own downloads are also stored on Dropbox.

I only use SFS as a 2nd link for all my downloads so if you download then use the Dropbox links for now. if you do use SFS then pay attention to the following:

If any zip or package file from me has been updated in march/April 2025 (at SFS):

  • Do not DOWNLOAD the file/zip from SFS and please let me know!!! ( I still have to check ALL folders manually for this...)

Just a quick reminder: I haven’t created or updated any custom content (CC) in years. So if you see a file that’s been recently updated (in the last 3 years I think ?), it probably means something is wrong.

If you notice anything weird, feel free to let me know!

It’s a bit different when it comes to builds and sims: if I update a lot or a household, I usually add a little note on the post (with the year) to let you know it's been modified. But just to be safe… I really recommend using the in-game Gallery instead, it’s safer!

I might also start looking for a better way to host my files moving forward.

Les Tournesols

There we go! I just finished building the last house I needed to accommodate all the planned households for my save!

I still have some community lots to create, houses to renovate based on the changes I’m planning for certain families, and most importantly, all my Sims to update. But once all that is done, I’ll finally be able to share a first version of my save (don’t get too impatient... it might still take a few months!).

I struggled a bit to find inspiration for the exterior of this house until I took a closer look at the fake buildings around it and tried to replicate their style. I also incorporated some Island Living furniture I don’t usually use in the decor, I think it suits the family that will be moving in here!

I’ll probably take a little break from building now and spend some time in Create a Sim, there’s a lot of work waiting for me there!

Harmonie

You might recognize the lot this build is based on: it was originally my student roommate house, which is now in my archived lots.

But while planning the changes I wanted to make for the families in my save, I decided to add a new household of roommates (you’ll get to meet them in the coming months, once I finally finish updating my almost 300 sims!). So I moved this house to Copperdale and gave it a little makeover.

The house includes plenty of spaces tailored to its occupants’ hobbies, from pottery to nectar-making. But I think you can easily adapt it to fit your own Sims and their interests, or even turn it into a large family home!

Écrin Pop

It feels good to start working on new lots… well, almost! This build is based on a starter house that was already in San Sequoia, I decided to adapt it for one of my families (they used to live in Evergreen Harbor, but their original house didn’t inspire me for a renovation).

I used a lot of furniture from Business & Hobbies to create a bit of a retro vibe. I hope you’ll like the result as much as I do!

Trésors Terrestres

As usual, I built a new lot to test out the latest pack!

It was a challenge to build a single-story house (that’s how I prefer to play) that could fit both a living space and a small shop. But I really like the result! I don’t think I’ll be building more lots in Norhaven for now, I already have plenty to do with the worlds I’ve started. But I find the downtown area really pretty, though a bit empty, which is a recurring issue in the more city-like worlds lately.

My Sim plans to sell jewelry and pottery here but also to offer board games for customers to play when the shelves are empty. Yes, it's a bit random! But that gives him a reason to charge for both his creations and an entry fee, to make even more money (he has the Shady trait!). But if you want to use this lot, feel free to rearrange it to your liking, there should be enough space for all kinds of activities.

Parenthèse Ludique

The first recreation center in my save! Since I don’t have much space for community lots in this world, I opted for this type of lot, which combines multiple functions. There are dedicated areas for creation, games, and sports!

I didn’t build it from scratch, I simply renovated the original lot, which I already liked. It’s as if a former home was repurposed into a community space.

I have another lot of this type under construction in San Sequoia, but it’s a very large lot, and I’m already dreading the landscaping!

Location: Henford-on-Bagley (Finchwick), 3 Cobblebottom Street.

Joyeux Chaos

This should be my last major renovation!

I plan to move in two siblings as roommates on this lot, so I decided to reduce the number of bedrooms compared to the original build, which had three.

I tried to go for budget-friendly furniture where possible, but the lot still costs §40,000. Honestly, if you decide to play with my builds (or my save when it's ready!), I’d recommend using a mod to cut the bills in half!

Auditorium

Even though I know I won’t use it much, I still built an auditorium to match my high school. Testing this lot in different configurations took time… and reminded me why I dislike the High School Years EP so much.

Nevertheless, everything is functional!

Charme Rural

This build was the first no-CC house I shared that is still part of my save! But at the time, I had very few packs (Cats & Dogs had just been released), so there was a lot to improve in terms of decoration.

I moved a bit away from the original style to adapt it for the Abidal-Carrel family, who now live here. They’re a young, sporty couple who decided to leave the city and move to the countryside when their daughter, Charlie, was born, to give her a better environment. Nassim, the husband, is passionate about cooking, and his wife, Alexandra, needed a small office space to work from home.

I'm pretty happy with the result, I hope you'll like it too!

Salon des Sages

I already know that in my save, I won’t be using all the worlds (that would be too much work), so I have a limited number of lots to work with. However, for each type of community lot, I’d like to have at least two options in very different styles. I already had a rather modern library, so here’s a second one, much more rustic, with a little touch of the occult!

Once again, this is a renovation of an old lot, but aside from the exterior walls, I didn’t keep much! I also recently renovated the museum right next door, but the changes were much less drastic, so I didn’t make a new post for it (though it’s still worth downloading the updated version!).

Villa Enchantée

This new renovation was an opportunity for me to use content from the latest kits and to adapt an old build to its new occupants (poor them, they had to live in a house that didn’t really suit them for so long!). It's a very spacious and colourful house with three bedrooms, but the office and the room with the seance table could be repurposed if needed.

Just 5 more lots to tweak, a few more to build, and I'll have a save advanced enough to share a first version. Oh, and I still have nearly 300 Sims to update—... it's nowhere near finished! 😬

I played a bit of The Sims 2 this week-end (the Ultimate Collection, not new version), and I had a great time with Vinnie!

He found love with Antoine, made great progress in his career in education, and was able to build himself a lovely home, had an alien baby (but since he has the Knowledge aspiration, that's a good thing!), and at the end, a little dog joined the household!

The simplicity of the game is refreshing, compared to The Sims 4, where more and more systems keep piling up, are rarely updated, and sometimes feel redundant.

Also, I enjoyed the detail and humor in the animations (Sims have specific animations when they talk about their interests or when they cook, they take utensils out of countertop drawers). I really wish The Sims 4 would take inspiration from that!

I'm not sure I'll keep playing for much longer, but It was fun to revisit The Sims 2! ☺️

Grandeur Passée

I'm nearing the end of my renovations of older builds (after this one, I think I have four left), with this house located in Brindleton Bay!

I've decided to remove some older lots from my save that I no longer liked or that weren't very practical to play. This includes the Château de l'Ormyeu, a gigantic build where the König family used to live. I needed to find them a new, more reasonably sized home, and it just so happened that I had a house with enough bedrooms on hand. It just needed a little touch-up (well, more than that, really, I practically only kept the shell!).

By the way, most of the abandoned builds are available in this post.

Foyer Chaleureux

I built this house years ago, inspired by my father and his partner’s home. For this renovation, I decided to move it to the town center of Henford-on-Bagley, which makes sense since the original one is also located in the heart of a small village (though not in England, it’s in the south of France!).

I also took the opportunity to reorganize the layout, as I changed the location of the main entrance. I hope you and your Sims will enjoy this vibrant and colorful home!

Humble Départ

Of course, I’m not going to fill Henford-on-Bagley with only renovated builds, I’ll be adding new ones too!

The first is this one,a starter house!

Building on a limited budget without sacrificing decor and clutter is always tricky, but I’m pretty happy with the result. If at some point, you need a second bedroom, I recommend extending the veranda and converting it into a proper room by replacing the roof and windows, there should be enough space!
