Oh dear, I hope your day improves, or if it’s night for you, that the next day is better!

I’ll just list off a fun fact for each character from each AU! (I cannot remember what has been said and what hasn’t so if these things aren’t new feel free to request another one lol)

DND AU:

- overall: in my first designs for the characters, all of them are entirely dressed in my own wardrobe! However, I don’t have a lot of those clothing pieces anymore.

- Green is an anxious mess, but he’s also the one who’s the best at public speaking, as long as he has a speech prepared! He’s got a good memory (not as good as Vio’s), and can also easily read social situations to determine what to say, so presentations are a breeze for him.

- Blue is quite religious, hoping that one day the goddesses will have mercy on him and his bad luck. This day has not come. He makes sure to pray every day, leaves offerings at the temples, etcetera. Sometimes he’s accompanied by his neighbor Erune and her grandmother, but a lot of the time he goes alone.

- Red is asexual, and the only one in the AU I’m not really shipping with anyone else (all ships between the other four are canon to this AU). He’s not a classic matchmaker either. He’s actually… the total opposite of a romantic.

- Vio is incredibly interested in botany, especially carnivorous plants. He has five deku babas, and tends to his own greenhouse and garden in his parents’ backyard. He spends most of his time there.

- Shadow is adopted, and if ever asked about what happened to his birth parents, he will come up with increasingly outlandish stories in response. He doesn’t actually know, nor does he care, what happened to them.

FAM AU:

- overall: this AU was originally loosely based off the premise of a Homestuck fanfiction I read a few years ago, Alternate Universe by Unda. It’s easy to find on Ao3. It’s a very loose inspiration, however, and I never finished the fic.

- Green looks a lot more like his mother than he does his father, and takes great care in his appearance. He’s confident and sure of himself, but when he’s thrown off his guard he becomes quite the mess. He’s not close with many people, though, so his buttons aren’t often pressed.

- Blue is an immigrant, and came to Hyrule in the early 20th century/late 19th century out of hope that he would be able to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. Only recently has he been able to start making that dream a reality, however. Even in Hyrule, a place for the magical to thrive, his species aren’t welcome.

- Red is based off a leopard seal specifically, and they can be shockingly violent. They keep this under wraps, however, and channel their darker emotions through their writing. They want to become a journalist or an author once they graduate, and have been working on their book for a little over two years now.

- Vio actually has a great interest in architecture. Their favorite books are on the history of different architectural styles in Hyrule and some other, European countries, and they have a list of landmarks they wish to visit just to admire the skill that went into the design. They’ve stopped traveling, though, so a few of those places will forever remain unchecked.

- Shadow is asthmatic, and also has chronic anxiety. That’s why he has a service dragon, Adalinda, who keeps his medications and is also his emotional support. He loves her dearly, she’s like his baby. He found her by chance and trained her from her hatching, and then registered her for official service animal training once he was medically diagnosed.

I remember I did write a Vigreedow fic once and it was really cute, and of course I LOVE RGB they’re adorable!

I can honestly barely remember! I do know I loved witches and wizards, but I didn’t want them gendered, so I gave those roles to Shadow and Zelda respectively (reversing the typical witch and wizard genders by doing so) and then worked out how witches and wizards are actually categorized way later.

Vio and Blue I put down as what they arebecause I wanted a classic angel vs demon trope (they were ex lovers in the original AU), I believe??

Red I first came up with while I was in the middle of a selkie phase when it came to my mythology fixation, and I was like, woah, round and soft? Red!

Green I just really wanted to be a horse, I don’t know why. Clearly a good choice though, people love the pretty horse.

Sheik and Ravio I came up with much more recently in comparison. I know I wanted Sheik to be a sort of parallel to both Zelda and to Vio, so making him a vampire, an elegant creature of the night, was interesting to me. Ravio I assigned to be a dragon because he’s very… uh…. Monetarily driven…. In the original game.

Oooh I love this one okay-

So first of all, no, Shadow does not depend on the Dark Mirror in this AU, second of all, the Links DO depend on it, and third of all I actually changed their origin concepts slightly, so they aren’t literal reflections of Zelda anymore. But thank you so much!!

And before I expand on that, to answer the Greedow question: basically I kind of dipped my toes into it with my Unfinished Business AU (Linkdow) and then fully dove in with GVSTW and got WAY too attached just from the first page I made for it. It was very sudden and quite unexpected from my friends who were like woah where did this come from?? But now it’s like, one of my favorite ships, but I like a bunch of other underrated ships too, like Glue, Bludow, Vired, etc!

Now to expand on the swap AU a bit:

Shadow was born into the royal family completely naturally, but did not inherit the blood of the Goddess, something that became far more obvious the older he got. He’s seen as a disappointment and a brat, who likes to pull stunts and ‘run away’ for attention. Some of his character was inspired by Breath of the Wild Zelda in that aspect, except for him, there truly is no power that eventually awakens within him. The Triforce of Wisdom is not his burden to bear. It’s someone else’s (Zelda’s, obviously).

Now, for the Links, I’ve reworked them a bit. The magic of the Four Sword was stolen by a sorcerer long ago, leaving it corrupted and unable to assist Zelda by properly splitting her. Instead of being based off her, the Links actually take on the likeness of their past wielder. However, their personalities were altered by the darkness, similarly corrupted just like the Four Sword, when their souls were tied to the Dark Mirror so they were able to roam freely before the Four Sword was drawn. They spied on Zelda (and Shadow, mostly), knowing she would be their biggest obstacle in kidnapping Shadow, and grew to deeply resent her, enough that they ended up subconsciously mimicking her in ways that, when she finally confronts them, call out her worst flaws.

And yes, that is a mirror shard Shadow is holding— it’s to remember the Links by, after the battle.

Okay so I have two different answers here!

The AU I’m most excited to write about changes very often, especially because I never finish any fics I write, but currently it’s my swap AU with Prince!Shadow and Knight!Zelda, they are quite fun and I actually have a fic fully planned out for it! I plan to start soon, maybe in a week or so!

The one that’s the most developed though is definitely my FAM AU, due to how far removed from canon it is I had to do a lot of original worldbuilding for it, and it’s also one of my oldest AUs. It hasn’t been talked about much on my Tumblr though, since most of the development was during the time when I accidentally took a break bc I straight up forgot Tumblr existed. The AU mainly being used for RP also definitely helped me develop a lot of it that otherwise wouldn’t be developed- RP helps a lot with world and character development in general! You get asked a bunch of questions you may not have ever considered about your AU, it’s very fun!

Not really, I still love them though! Definitely my first AU that kinda blew up in this small fandom so it holds a special place in my heart, but I haven’t really made anything with them in a while. I got some fanart from my friend Adel in the Sanctuary Discord server though and I think about that so often!!
