Some outfit ideas for Nine.

A full body reference for my newest character, Nine! I've fiddled with the text and formatting for so long that I'm getting tired of looking at it, so I'm posting it now before I decide I need to make another dozen miniscule changes lol

Science fiction is one of my favorite genres, so frankly I'm shocked it took me this long to design a cyberpunk-y character. It was well worth the wait however, because I adore their design and how their story is coming together!

Study #2 with Astrid!

I adore Taynee Tinsley's figure drawings, so I'm attempting a series of studies using them as references to improve how I simplify anatomy with Astrid as my model. This is the first of several!

I also used a watercolor brush for her galaxy pattern for the first time in this drawing, and I LOVE how it looks! I'm going to use this brush for her way more in the future.

Last summer I completed my very first crocheted project, which is a cardigan that turned out super cute but also very warm. I wanted to make a character who could wear it without melting into a sad little puddle like I do, and Patches was born! I’ve posted a few chibis of him before, but this is his first proper reference.

I think he turned out SO cute, and I’m especially proud of the two on the right. I struggle with drawing clothing, but these don’t look half bad!

I’ve finally decided on an art style that suits Patches! I’ve always had a strong sense of what I wanted him to look like–simple and cute, but still obviously bovine. It didn’t translate well to paper the first few times I tried to draw him, which is why he initially appeared on my blog in chibi form, but now I think I’ve got it!

I’m going to draw one more outfit for him, then finish them all up digitally.

Working on a reference sheet for a new character always makes me want to go update all my older characters' references with new art, too lol

I'm making a reference sheet for Kotaro and Terumi, and I love how this headshot for it turned out.

Next up is Heracross! I adore this giant bug.

My second two randomly generated Pokemon were Lycanroc and Chingling.

I wasn't planning on developing the Pokemon in these practice drawings into characters, buuut I'm officially attached to these two. So. This is Kotaro the Lycanroc and his mentor Terumi the Chingling, and they have an exploration team together! Because levitating for long periods of time is difficult for Terumi, they usually let Kotaro carry them around his neck while travelling so they can save their energy for battling.

Next time I draw Kotaro, I'm going to differentiate his design from basic Lycanroc a little more. I already have a few ideas for him. :3c
