okay. here's the thing. advent children isn't a fantastic movie. it's not groundbreaking. it's clearly made by video game devs who have no idea how movies actually work. but I still loved it. i loved it and I still love it. it's amazing. it makes me laugh and it makes me cry. even if it's objectively "bad," I still enjoy it. which is why I get upset when people come to me going "advent children is BAD so you SHOULDN'T LIKE IT." i know it's bad. "the REMNANTS are OBSOLETE and UNIMPORTANT." so? so is the entire cast of ff7 aside from Cloud and Sephiroth. But we still enjoy side characters who have no relevance to the main plot. i can still like something if it's poorly made. advent children to me is like a shitty child doodle to a parent. is it good? maybe not, but the ff7 team put their heart and soul into making AC. I adore it with my whole being. nobody could make me dislike this movie.
