Ah, Perry the platypus. I see you're wearing a deboobinator (binder), I didn't know you were a swappinator.
people seem to be forgetting that "you don't need to transition medically to be trans" was born out of a time when blair white was the most popular trans person online. when the overwhelming zeitgeist was "you need to have bottom surgery, top surgery, ffs/fms, you need to be skinny (and white) you need to xyz to be really trans. if you dont do all of these things you are a faker who just wants attention." I remember there was a whole scandal about non-binary people entering in a binder swap program were accused of "stealing resources of trans men" because "these theyfabs aren't even going to transition anyway why are they taking all of our binders"
"you don't need to transition medically to be trans" was and is a response to virulent exclusionary transmedicalism. and it is not in opposition to "we need to make HRT and surgery available to anyone who seeks it"
Apparently a lot of people get dialogue punctuation wrong despite having an otherwise solid grasp of grammar, possibly because they’re used to writing essays rather than prose. I don’t wanna be the asshole who complains about writing errors and then doesn’t offer to help, so here are the basics summarized as simply as I could manage on my phone (“dialogue tag” just refers to phrases like “he said,” “she whispered,” “they asked”):
Saw a baddel/tirf make the claim that saying "Trans men are the men (derogatory) of the trans community" is okay to say because its a "Call out about Trans men's misogyny" and that "Trans men aren't at an intersectional identity because manhood isn't oppressed"
And im fucking fuming.
No. That's not a "Call out" for misogyny.
That's just degradation.
all animals have a place in the ecosystem and that includes humans and im sick of encountering edgelords who say the earth would be better off if we were wiped out. you wanna mess things up for every species that has adapted to live alongside us? as far as i can tell our existance is pretty intertwined with the world we live in, and caring about animals should include caring about humans because we're also animals. so we should probably focus on doing good with the resources we have instead of fantasizing about a big nuclear reset button. you sound like a pokémon villain.
i'm just saying man
"there's nothing wrong with being effeminate." of course. and do you feel happy with how you look?
"i worry people would feel unsafe around me." do you feel safe around you?
"it would be hard for other people to adjust." and you think it'd be easier to suffer quietly?
"he/they is fine. i really prefer he/him, but i have to make it easier on other people." so you want to let other people decide your gender? again?
"if i'm going to be a man, i owe it to other people to be as soft, friendly, and nonthreatening as possible."
No. You don't.
One of my hottest takes is that the online queer community has a problem with redesigning flags. It feels like every year a new version of a flag is "coined" and it's all from just a hue change on an existing flag(and fuck you if you get the hue wrong!) to the most busy and chaotic thing ever. Most of the time though it's just a color gradient. So many flags just look the same, there's no individuality in the redesigns and often they are incredibly difficult/impossible to replicate in a lot of crafting mediums.
It irks me that im often forced to exclude flags like the lesbian, gay male and progress flag in my crafts because either the colors don't exist or there's too little space and then I'll have ppl imply I'm bigoted against someone in the community because it's impossible for me to make said flags.
It's like everyone wants to be that semi famous person to make a historic pride flag but they can't come up with a new one so they either build on a preexisting one and/or look for ways to deem the old one problematic (saw one person today saying that the trans flag is bad because gender is a spectrum and the flag isn't a gradient. As well as saying that it's weird that the blue is on the top and bottom etc so they could justify their own gradient redesign. Another person said we should do away with the blue and pink entirely because its sexist etc)
I'm not against redesigns as a concept but this community seems almost addicted to them.
How do we expect anyone to recognize a flag if they change constantly?
you're telling me that the guys who are defined solely by the fact that society doesn't see them as men and does see them as failed women have male privilege and they're use it against women by... saying this is an inaccurate representation of their lives and standing in society???
i actually get a bit annoyed with people who get a bit annoyed when people say “sorry” in response to their bad news. “why are you apologizing you didn’t do anything :/” like okay well a) you don’t know that and actually yes i am the secret architect of all your woes and have been this whole time, way to refuse to acknowledge a woman (gender neutral)’s accomplishments. and b) we’re both fluent english speakers so you know perfectly well that “sorry” isn’t always an apology and is very commonly used as an expression of general regret or sympathy. not in this case, because i have been your secret nemesis for years, meticulously plotting your every misery, but, like, in general
