geto suguru’s guide on fraternising with the enemy

summary: geto suguru has been your greatest rival since your first year at hogwarts, always outdoing you in class and always getting under your skin. when he’s picked as the hogwarts champion for the triwizard tournament instead of you, you think you couldn’t possibly hate him more—until he corners you one evening and asks for your help.

pairing: slytherin!geto suguru x gryffindor!fem!reader contains: romance, angst, slowburn, academic rivals to lovers au, hogwarts au, profanity, dragons, injuries, fights about blood purity, mentions of underage drinking—please let me know if i’ve missed anything! word count: 24.2k playlist: the course of true love never did run smooth note: big big thank you to @etherealyoungk for making this gorgeous banner! thank you for reading ♡ (read on ao3 here!)

The only thing worse than losing to Geto Suguru is being expected to smile about it.

When the Goblet of Fire coughs out the charred piece of parchment with his name written on it, it feels as though the entire Great Hall erupts around you. Hoots of excitement ricochet off the enchanted ceiling, mingling with groans of disapproval—chiefly from your housemates, who baulked at the audacity of a Slytherin representing Hogwarts. You, however, couldn’t join in either chorus. No, you sit frozen at the Gryffindor table, lips pressed tightly together in an attempt to keep your tears at bay.

Geto Suguru stands from his place among the Slytherins, shrugging off his best friend’s arm from around his shoulders. His head turns, and somehow, through the sea of cheering faces, his gaze locks onto yours. There is something almost incendiary in his look—smugness molded into a smile, something defiant in the tilt of his jaw. You grind your teeth, irritated.

Suguru is now the Hogwarts Champion, elevated above the rest of you. You are nothing more than the runner-up—a title no one cares enough about to utter aloud.

pairing: thief/flynn rider!gojo satoru x fem!reader contains: romance, angst, smut (oral sex, unprotected sex, loss of virginity), slowburn, action, tangled au, debatable attempts at comedy, profanity, inaccurate depictions of horse-riding, mentions of poison and murder, violence that comes with daggers/swords/frying pans—please let me know if i’ve missed anything! word count: 31k playlist: “you broke my smolder” art credit: _3aem | read on ao3 here.

It turns out that blackmailing a wanted criminal is much harder than it seems.

For one, he does not take you seriously. Not even a little.

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS *
the children of okhema would never miss the chance to play house with the prince of kremnos and his beautiful princess.
mydei x reader cw: fem. reader, fluff, children, phainon appears, soft mydei :) slight angst but it's nothing intense, not proofread

"they're just like the couple from the stories we read!"

in the garden of life, two siblings were staring intensely at you and your lover, mydei, tease the infamous verax leo.

"they are! [name] definitely fits the description of a princess!" the younger sister, penelope, said to her older sister, ellie.

ellie nodded her head in excitement. "yes and sir mydei..."

the two went quiet as they thought of the right words to use.

"is he like the scary dragon that sweeps the princess away?" penelope pondered with a hand on her chin. ellie shook her head, "i don't think so. maybe the evil merman who tries to sink her ship?"

penelope disagreed with her sister's idea, gosh this was difficult for their young brains!

"i got it!" penelope shouted excitedly, "the barbarian who kidnapped princess [name] from her kingdom!"

ellie gasped in shock at her sister's brilliant brain. "penelope, you're a genius!"

"didn't your parents ever teach you it's rude to talk about people behind their backs?"

the girls squealed as mydei's baritone voice came from behind them.

don't know where my heart went, don't tell me you lost it

Veritas Ratio x gn!reader

sfw, but suggestive. in my mind this takes place in the real world--if only because i like headcanoning Ratio as a Berkeley professor. also i wrote this almost immediately after reading a paper on modifying the properties of polymers so that's the topic of their research for this fic. LMAO

length: 2.2k

a/n: um... this is the veritaleks dynamic in my head it maybe be ooc but idrc. this just happened. im sick of it sitting in my drafts. lets never talk about this again. ok bye

The morning after a conference is always incredibly exhausting, for several reasons.

For one, the conference itself of course. Just attending can be, at the best of times, a plethora of information and a delightful learning experience despite the chaos; and at the worst of times, an emotionally taxing and degrading affair as you lick the boots of your fellow academics, praising the work of your colleagues (which is really the work of their peon grad students), offering long-winded thank you’s to academies and foundations swimming comfortably in the proceeds of decades of future student loan debt and federal funds, and watching with disdain as your colleagues add more lines to their painfully long CVs in the name of proving their self-worths, stroking their egos, and keeping their tenure.

The second reason, is that at this particular conference you had to be such a colleague. Having to defend your years of work in a micro-field that perhaps only three other people in the entire world cared about, that’s not an easy thing, either. The barely-stifled yawns and the heads thrown back in various stages of NREM sleep as you talked about the importance of rate constants and how you determined such values for the fluoridation of a ring-polymeric molecule with a surface featuring a high action potential was surely riveting for the two people in the entire room who were awake enough to witness it. Having to pretend to care, for everyone involved, was as taxing for the presenter (you) as it was for the guests, surely.

Typically, reason number three would be the hours of travel. But for you, luckily, yesterday’s particular one was in your hometown, allowing you a glorious respite in your own bed and not some shitty three-star Hilton Embassy Suite in the middle of bumfuck nowhere.

So for today’s third reason, well—this has little to do with conferences at all.

Instead, it is a tall, pale, dark-haired Berkley professor with a penchant for testing your patience and (a recent development) an even greater penchant for somehow ending up in your bedroom.

𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐋𝐄𝐅𝐓

(after sleeping with him the night before)

cast: diluc, alhaitham, wriothesley, ajax x fem reader

warnings: fem reader, nudity, reader wears dilucs shirt in his part, reader also wears wriothesleys coat in his part + he throws you onto the bed, reader is shorter than ajax in his part, the tiniest bits of angst because they really like you, clingy men 🥺, nsfw but no actual smut

MINORS AND BLANK/AGELESS BLOGS DNI

Diluc wakes, and the sheets pool at his waist as he suddenly sits up in bed. The way he drags his hand over his face while he blinks away the remnants of sleep as he takes in his surroundings has his heart dropping to this stomach.

Where have you gone?

The night before was a whirlwind of kisses and heated touches that turned into naked skin on naked skin and heavy strokes that brought out the most beautiful sound of you crying Dilucs name for him, and eventually the fire that consumed you both multiple times, turned into a flicker of warm embers as you fell asleep in his arms.

Only now as the dawn breaks, Diluc finds himself alone in his bedroom. Was he a fool? His heart proves time and time again to be his greatest foe, and perhaps his deep and doting feelings for you were not truly returned by yourself and now resulted in you leaving before he woke up as a means to lessen the blow of your rejection. Diluc swallows down a pang of heartbreak - it’d been a rather long time since he last felt this way in such a fresh sense. His jaw sets as his mind starts to fly through his interactions with you. Mostly good. Your smiles. Your laughter. The flutter of your lashes whenever he was close. Had he offended you somehow amongst all of these months of falling for you? Had you only been putting on an act only to spare his feelings? He thought he was a perceptive man, and celestia knows he spent endless amounts of time just…wanting to know you. He finds his hand coming up to settle over his heart, clutching at his chest when he sighs in resignation to another day without you by his side.
