You know when you get an idea and you just Have to follow through on it. That's what caused this.

Doing some Zora sketches for this AU. I love that the royalty get large, but Zelda would get quite a shock when her friend- who was the same height- is now much taller. It's definitely something she would enjoy, though it takes a while for her to admit this

I think for her it's a combination of feeling trapped by how everyone expects her to look, and sensory issues from her hair/dress. Since this is causing so much inner turmoil, she doesn't feel she befits the triforce of wisdom- surely she should have all the answers? And just to make matters worse she can tell that her feelings towards other woman aren't just platonic, doesn't she need to marry so there's a king too?

She sees Link as having so much courage for being true to himself, and wishes she could do the same

In this AU I think Zelda would reject how she's 'meant' to look. She can do her job just fine and feel comfortable in her own skin. 100% making her a lesbian too, already got some ideas on who she would definitely have a crush on..

She would feel nervous after first changing up her style, but doesn't let this show to anyone but Link

Link is mute because that's one of my favourite headcanons for him

In the decade that I've loved the zelda games I've never really made my own AU. Though sheikah Link has always been at the back of my mind.

Some sketches here of a possible design, he would be assigned to work with Zelda directly. I've already got some fun ideas for her

And yes braids would Not be very practical in a fight, but god I love them too much
