Great! They brought back the Dire Wolf… Fantastic.

How about we focus on the thousands of species that are critically endangered rather than bringing back an already extinct species.

Yes, this is a great achievement for science, but why don’t we focus this money and time into coming up with conversations tactics to protect the plants and animals we still have????

Like genuinely its heartbreaking to scroll through the list of endangered species and know that barely any effort is being put into protecting them.

Our futures rely around these plants and animals. Even the smallest thing such as an isopod or a butterfly, they make a huge difference.

Almost 50% of the cause of endangered ocean life is due to climate change…Guess who is responsible for that? Humans! We are!

Yet we’re stuck on bringing back the Dire Wolf.

There’s been an increase in seal and sea lion deaths due to algae blooms. Algae blooms are caused by increased water temperatures.

Coral bleaching is occurring due to warming waters. Coral reefs are home to almost 30% of all marine life. Further more, they’re a vital asset in carbon cycling. A lot of people think that trees are the main source of oxygen…But the ocean produces more oxygen than trees and all other land plants combined!

50 million dollars…That’s how much money is being funded towards the protection and growth of coral.

Can you guess how much funding went into bringing back the Dire Wolf?

435 million dollars.

$435,000,000.00

Four hundred and thirty five MILLION dollars.

The last two Northern White Rhinos…only females left. 100 million dollars.

So the question is; why is all this money being pushed towards a project that would bring back an ALREADY EXTINCT animal when there are so many more that this money could be going to?

Human greed is no joke. Apparently bringing back an animal is more sought after and impressive than saving an animal from complete extinction.

Have an electrician over today & he comes through from the kitchen like 'i was looking at that poster on your wall wondering how I hadn't heard of the movie so I googled it. What is the point. Is it just there to catch people out.' And I'm like, well,

before you stab someone: THINK!

how can you make it Tender?

how can you make it Homoerotic?

how can you make it Implicitly intimate?

how can you make it Noticeably a metaphor for sex?

how can you make it Kind of gay?

some of you think ‘nuanced’ only means ‘morally grey’ and I’m here to tell you that actually straight up good characters can still be nuanced and unapologetically evil characters can still be nuanced. the character doesn’t have to be an anti hero or morally dubious to have depth. they don’t even have to feel sorry about their crimes to have depth.

it not fun be high support needs.

you can have lots fun as high support needs person. you can find lots joy in your high support needs experience.

we have value n worth simply by existing.

but. be high support needs not sunshine n rainbow by any means. be high support needs hard, n difficult, n a struggle, n painful, n exhausting. lot of times really hate be high support needs, even though there joy in it too, n am not going sugar coat it or make it sound palatable or pretty or easy digest.

it not fun rely on other people for the most basic thing ever. there nothing wrong with need any amount of help, but needing so much help for every single little thing extremely suffocating n limiting.

even if have carer who respect your decision n autonomy (it a basic right yet somehow be luxury many of us not have), simple fact of need help every time you need bathroom, or get dressed, or hungry, or need new scoop of food, or spill things or make mess, or want go out, or want something anything, you inherently need wait on others, you exist in other people space n time n energy n mood instead of your own, you extension of someone else. “spontaneous” not exist for you.

it not fun see everyone move on. it not fun see everyone your age, your peers, even people with same diagnosis as you but with more ability n lower needs than you, all of them move on with their life. n you’re. just here.

it not fun see someone way younger than you be able do all these things you not able do n reach milestones you still not reach.

it not fun be high support needs as young adult, the age where you suppose explore! grow! learn be adult! become independent! have job, support yourself! live on own, live with roommate (who you not depend on for your life n basic needs!)! n you have. none. of. that.

n even if some of us lucky enough have some of those. it so easily taken away.

it not fun be stuck forever. it not fun be stuck in bad situations n not be able leave on your own n depend on other people help to leave.

high support needs people disproportionally more abused n more easily abused. it not fun be stuck in abusive situation, be stuck with abusive people (sometimes those abusive people be your carers whom you literally depend on for your life n survival), n not be able escape on your own n need help to do that - but guess what abusive situation n abusers do? ironically, they isolate you. you alone. no one to help you. you need permission to leave, because people who abuse you control major aspect of your life.

if you have ability to plan your escape, which not all high support needs people do, you need worry abt everything average victim of abuse need worry about, n then so much more.

escape simply not be possible for so, so many of us.

this post a LOT tamer than how actually want say.

sorry, it's a GOOD thing if cishet people use non-conforming pronouns or dress in non-conforming ways or whatever else. for one, that person may not be cishet. but more importantly, living in a society where more people feel comfortable exploring their relationship to gender and sexuality is an undoubtedly GOOD thing

”He’s queer baiting! He’s in a skirt!” I thought clothes weren’t gendered? What does a skirt have to do with gender and sexuality? Are you, perhaps, just a little bit bigoted?

“Girls with short hair are never straight.” Yes they are. It’s a haircut. I thought hair didn’t define gender? I thought we were allowed to do whatever we want with our hair? Why does she have to have long hair to be considered straight?

“you can’t use neopronouns, you’re not even non-binary!” I thought pronouns didn’t equal gender. I thought we could use whatever pronouns feels most correct. Why are you gendering these pronoun sets that were literally created to be used by anyone of any identity? Are you possibly trying to govern how other people express or experience gender?

Why are these things inherently queer? Are you stereotyping queer people? Are you trying to say that a specific type of person has to be queer? Why? Are you homophobic and transphobic? No? Then stop being a fucking prick and let people do whatever the fuck they want. Let cishet men wear skirts. Let straight woman have short hair. Let binary people use whatever pronouns they want. Stop pushing gender norms, it’s not progressive.

Stop being a fucking cop about how other people live. It's free.

visibly disabled people will present others with the most basic and easy to understand request like “please don’t talk to me like I am a small child” and in response people will just start monologuing about how difficult and confusing this is for them and how they’re doing their best and how they need patience and understanding too and it’s so fucking tiring lol
