Stellaglas Mountain by @soliblomst

Today, get ready for some Brokeback-style pining and sexual tension, but this time with an HEA for Drarry ...

Stellaglas Mountain by @soliblomst Pairing: Draco x Harry Rating: M Length: 67 minutes Summary:

In the summer of 2004, Auror Harry Potter and Magizoologist Draco Malfoy are sent to the Stellaglas Mountains of Scotland to ensure the safety of two Qilins newly gifted by China. The problem: they haven't spoken since the end of the war and have no intention of doing so. Inspired by Brokeback Mountain.

❤️ Many thanks to Caylin for picking one of my fics and sharing such a beautifully read podfic! Literally obsessed with her voice 🥺❤️

I'm eternally grateful ❤️ I never imagined The Boy from the Piano Shop would reach so many people. Even a year on, I still can't get over the wonderful comments I've received, even people telling me they reached out for help after reading it because Harry's journey inspired them. It's just... it sums up why I love writing stories in the first place, and why I love sharing them.

(kind of a crying mess today. I just felt the need to share this little joy)

Absolutely fell in love with your latest work. Each work keeps getting better and better.

What’s next?Do you have any more works in the pipeline u can tease to fans? :))

Thank you so much ❤️❤️

I'm currently writing two one-shots in French (which I may translate into English later). It's something I've wanted to do for a long time. I just missed writing in my native language so much, and I finally let myself do it, even though it might be disappointing for the readers who have subscribed to my account. They're both quite short and focus on depression (well… like all my fics anyway, lol lol).

Otherwise, I'm brainstorming and planning my new long fic (in English, don't worry). It's a bit hard to talk about because it's so early in the process… In short, Harry's near-death experience in the forest has led to strange phenomena that prevent him from living a normal life. Draco, on the other hand, owns a potion shop in Diagon Alley and lives a very normal, quiet life. And then… you'll see :)

In the spirit of waiting for your next drarry release.

If you had to make a drarry reading guide, what would be on it and why?

Aka what other peoples drarry fics are you a fan of/reread? 💙

Oh man, I think I'm the worst person to ask. I haven't read enough fics to make a reading guide... I've never been much of a fanfic reader for various reasons, one of which is that my attention span when reading on screen is disastrous. I usually end up sticking to either one-shots or physical books (mostly physical books) 🫠 It's something I feel a bit awkward about because it makes it harder to connect with the Drarry community, but I also don't want to force myself. I've still read a few that I loved; I'm just veeeeeery slow, haha.

For e.g, I really liked Beholden by Faithwood, A Pulled Down Shade by Fastbrother, Nice Things by Adeomai, Plotty's one-shots—they're very funny and well-written. I also loved Writesbymiiso's depressing stories, and A Hop, a Skip and a Jump by RockingRobin.

This year, I'd also like to read some "classics," like Always Childish Things and It Was All Just a Game (which I started but, for some reason, never finished lol)

Anyway, that's a bit disappointing, sorry :')

One of my favorite reads from 2024:

The Boy from the Piano Shop by @soliblomst

I made one of this copy for a dear friend who I share my live for Noah Kahan with. I couldnt get "Call Your Mom" out of my head while reading this so it felt fitting to include some quotes throughout the typeset.

The amazing art commission for the cover is drawn by the most talented @goldmanrustic

Oh my GOD. The artwork? It is absolutely stunning! 🥹 I’m truly speechless.

The binding is beautiful, and the quotes are just perfect! I absolutely love Noah Kahan and always listen to his music while writing, so I’m thrilled that you combined my writing with his art 🥺 I’m excited for your friend 💜! Also, I’m so touched that you loved my fic enough to print it 😭💘

Writing in your native language after years of writing in English is so bloody liberating... It's like meeting up with an old friend—the kind of friend where everything is so natural, where you're comfortable enough not to overthink what you say or don't say.

Don't get me wrong, I love writing in English, and I'm not going to stop. But I needed this little break to hang out with my bestie—French.

Yeeeeeeeee

To the lovely anonymous person who is sending me detailed analyses of every update for "When We Were Angels" through the Ask Me feature on tumblr! I'm sorry for not being able to answer. Doing so would make them public, and they contain too many spoilers for those who haven't caught up with the latest chapters yet 🥺

But thank you! 💜💜💜💜 they're lovely! (you're lovely)

Writing Interview

Thanks @smehur for the tag!

how many works do you have on ao3? 7

what's your total ao3 word count? 473,109 (Wait, whaat? Already?)

your top 5 stories by kudos

do you respond to comments? Always! And they mean everything to me.

what's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending? Mmmh. They're all Angst with a happy/hopeful ending… I honestly can't say which one has the angstiest ending. Maybe the boy from the piano shop, because Harry is still healing?

what's the fic you've written with the happiest ending? Same, for me, they all have the same level of happiness! But I want to say When We Were Angels just because the ending hasn't been posted yet, hehehe

do you write crossovers? No, and I don't think I will

have you ever received hate on a fic? Of course. I got a lot of hate on ffn, especially for The Lion's Scales. It was mostly homophobia and angry people complaining about the SA scene. I ended up deleting my fics from that site.

do you write smut? Not really. I only wrote one

have you ever had a fic stolen? I don't think so

have you ever had a fic translated? Yes, The Boy from the Piano Shop has been translated into Ukrainian! Twice! By Syldteo and by StasyD

have you ever co-written a fic? Not with an author but with an artist (Kismet) for Je te reverrai, and we had so much fun!!!!

what's your all-time favorite ship? Mmmh, I don't really know… I feel like Jayvik is stealing all my attention at the moment, haha

what's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will? The only abandoned WIP I have is In this little world but I don't necessarily want to finish it, oops.

what are your writing strengths? Apparently storytelling and making people cry? And people seem to like my OCs?

what are your writing weaknesses? English, 100%. I often feel very restricted when it comes to creativity and risk-taking in my writing because I overthink everything and am constantly afraid of making English mistakes. I also feel limited by my vocabulary. BUT I'm planning to write a one-shot in my native language (French) very soon, and I'm very excited about it!

what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? Well, I did it in Je te reverrai, so... As long as it's not too long and doesn't require the reader to constantly use google translate, I think it's fine.

what's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to? In HP I want to explore Ronnary, hehe. Maybe Harry/George too. Otherwise, I've considered writing a Jayvik one, but I don't think I'm ready to change the fandom I'm writing for (yet)… it's a bit scary. I'd also be interested in writing a Sam/Frodo one-shot one day! Who knows!

what's your favorite thing you've ever written? I think it's The Boy from the Piano Shop, because I poured my heart and soul into it, because I allowed myself to be extremely vulnerable with the themes it explored. Again, I feel a bit insecure about my English in this fic, but I'm really proud of the story! When We Were Angels, too! I've never worked so hard on a fic as I have on this one! God. I feel like every author I know has already been tagged for this game lol. @thecouchsofa @tripably @pl0tty <3 (And anyone who wants to join in!!)
