I already did my own design on Mileena, now it's time for Ashrah's design.

This one has more of my Indonesian spin to it and I offer two alternatives since you might miss her hat.

Update:

I adopt more "Indonesian" design and refining some design elements(despite being limited by my phone's capabilities) with a better hat!

Because her palette has a lot of white and gold, I added more shaded of brown and two Batik patterns—each represents different things.

Both of them came from the same sub-group called Batik Parang("parang" referred to sloped patterns on the fabric), which is one of the "forbidden" motifs that is only worn by royalties. And from there, I used two different styles.

the first on the top is called "Parang Rusak", which has that sloped letter S except they're looked full, representing our journey in life that is always full of hurdles. Mainly worn by warriors or knights.

The second one at the bottom is the one called Parang Klithik. The term "Klithik" refers to diamonds that goes between these sloped S pattern. They also looked less refined and much smaller than the one above, representing humility and grace. This motif is commonly worn by princesses, but if a man wears it, the meaning changed to represent their wisdom.

character bio

Sonya Blade
  • Sonya existed in this timeline as the main commander of Outworld Investigation Agency(OIA), which makes her...technically speaking, Jax's boss. She was once the leader of an entire operation that tracks down Kano and his Yakuza followers and thanks to Kenshi, she received a promotion.
  • It was rather questionable to her for adding Kenshi to her division, but Jax have witnessed the mayhem that is Shang Tsung's arrival at Earthrealm, convincing her that Kenshi being a specific target in the upcoming invasion makes him an important asset for the agency
  • Kenshi also introduced Sonya to Johnny Cage, telling her that all events in his recent movies are based off of real events, therefore encouraging the higher-ups to start building an inter-dimensional portal, in hopes of making contact to Outworld
  • Sonya wants to believe the experiment worked in order to pursue their main goal, but the portal consumes all energy from the entire state of L. A. Causing a state-level power shutdown for 48 hours
  • OIA was in the verge of being disbanded once that project failed, but when it seems that all hopes were lost, Kenshi returned to the office and introduced her to Syzoth— Outworld's emissary that happened to be stranded in Earthrealm
  • Sonya was skeptical about his presence, but she had to keep him as her new recruit as he saved the entire organization from falling apart. She also found him helpful in providing insights about Shang Tsung and how to prepare for his attack, for Sonya herself is very headstrong in her methods while Syzoth still had his head in the clouds

Mortal Kombat 1: Black Dragon Uprising

Character headcanons

Kenshi Takahashi
  • Kenshi came from an ancestry line of the Heike, aka Taira Clan. This clan is the naval soldiers of Japan in their ancient glory days. Legend has it that fallen spirits of the Heike will guide their descendants at the open seas. Some that lost the Genpei War, escaped by boat to travel and discovered strange lands where the spirits dwell and through them, Sento was forged. As far as Kenshi's parents told, they still believed that its return to Earthrealm will be the key towards securing their freedom...or legacy? 👀
  • Within this lineage, Oda Nobunaga once claimed to be a Heike descendant, making him one of Kenshi's ancestral spirits that he can summon in battle
  • Kenshi also inherited two notebooks: one containing all the stories and legends documented within generations of his family, and another in an indecipherable language...at least, for now.
  • The spirits can show their forms but their voice will be unheard by Earthrealmers(they speak to Kenshi exclusively). Outworlders on the other hand, can't see the physical form of the spirit but hears their voice 👀
  • Kenshi was once appointed by Kano to be his second-in-command for his swordsmanship, and under his tutelage, Kano shaped him into a ruthless murder machine, even the cops feared his presence. This gets him in trouble once he made his return to Japan.
  • Kenshi got his tattoos from Suchin's parlor. It started as a mandatory inauguration for Kenshi to get a simple ornate tattoo on his back, but he somewhat returned more often and adds more tattoos to his arms. He admires Suchin's craftsmanship so much that he came back just to spend more time with her.
  • Little did he know that Kano already claimed Suchin, until Kano broke into Suchin's room and caught Kenshi on her bed. A fight broke out, and Kenshi wants to settle their problem by cutting his own finger but Suchin took his place instead. His heart remains uneasy for letting Suchin lose a finger, but it's her or Kano.
  • In desperation, he was more determined to save Suchin from Kano's dirty hands, which caught the attention of Kabal, their appointed lawyer for the Yakuza. Through Kabal's connections, he was suggested to trust his protection to his colleague at the US Interpol which has been tracking down the organization for decades, along with some money and passports to smuggle him out of the country. Leading to his appointment with Detective Jackson "Jax" Briggs
  • As he arrived, he was reported by Suchin that Kenshi had a baby on the way, leading to more determination to follow his trails at finding Sento...that brings him to Johnny Cage's mansion, and the rest is in the main story.
  • Kenshi came for Sento with the intention of selling it at the black market, and he knew a particular woman in the Yakuza who was a renown arms dealer that will give him enough money to support his family at home...until the main story happens, and with Sento being his crutch, he could no longer sell it and still needs to fund his mandatory child support immediately
  • The longer he lived in the US, the more he missed eating convenience store foods. Mostly because that's the only meal he can afford for himself with a decent quality for sustenance.

Mortal Kombat 1: Black Dragon's Uprising(character Bio)

I have no idea of what could be his design but I have some headcanons that will help you figure that out if you're interested in this AU. Let's start with:

Kano

  • Once the leader of Yakuza and worked closely with Kenshi's family out of their financial debt to him
  • Unlike Kano's previously Australian iterations, this version of Kano is Japanese—going back to his original Yakuza roots as John Tobias intended for him before MK1995 was rising in popularity.
  • If you want a middle ground that combines both original and more recent iterations, Kano is a half-Japanese from the father while his mother is Australian. He was mainly raised by his father to learn about the criminal underworld.
  • Kano's businesses were rarely violent, but he was once known as a loan shark before starting more shady businesses such as smuggling drugs and firearms to the country in some areas or horse race gambling in some others
  • As he recruited the Takahashi clan, he discovered that Kenshi was a great swordsman and as an exchange of the family debt, they sacrificed their only son to be Kano's personal bodyguard, known to be cold and ruthless to those who stared into his eyes
  • Those who can't repay their debts were sold overseas no matter how close-knit they were to him, starting another business of human trafficking. Until one day, he caught his eye towards one Thai immigrant—a beautiful woman who left her country to pursue her education. Kano offered to fund her expenses, in exchange of her joining the Yakuza and work closely to him. This woman...is Suchin, who later become his trusted tattoo artist known for her artistic skills
  • Kano also recruited another corrupt attorney, Kabal. He discovered his expertise in defending corporations would help him work around the laws until he caught the winds of Kabal helping Kenshi leave the country
  • Kano entered Kabal's home and tried to burn everything down with him. If he can't reach Kenshi, then he had to make sure nobody reached him out. As their fight broke, Kano survived but lost half of his face and broke his ribs—forcing him to wear prosthetics while Kabal was fully trapped in his own home with severe burns

Mortal Kombat 1: Black Dragon Uprising

This is the start of Mortal Kombat 1 master post of a spin-off AU taking place within Kenshi's origin story and I wrote this to get shit more organized.

Origin

Kenshi was born and raised to work as a Yakuza. Over the course of his life, he inherited a notebook, listing his family tree which can be traced back to the Heike(other name for Taira Clan) in Japan, along with legends of many things they used to have until Genpei War broke them. As they took their losses, some have died and their exploits confiscated while some that survived choose to flee from the country or hide themselves away—working under Bakuto(underground gamblers) which then becomes the Yakuza we know in the present day.

Among those exploits, Sento remained missing, but there were legends surrounding the sword which claimed it was once forged by otherworldly creatures as the clan was very known for their skills of navigating the oceans, discovered an unknown land they believed to be the final resting place of their ancestors before coming back to Japan, living an honest life while keeping the secret for generations.

Despite of that, Kenshi might still believe it to be a child's imagination as he constantly live with the reality that he rose his ranks to become Kano's second-in-command.

Until...one fateful day.

The day he met Suchin and fell in love with her, almost costing her life and the unborn baby they conceived at the hands of Kano. Desperate for dear life, Kenshi halfheartedly cut his ties to Suchin and the Yakuza in search of Sento—hoping for the artifact would grant him enough to support his new family, and with the help of his lawyer, he flew himself to United States, following hot trails of Sento as he seek refuge to Interpol in exchange of family protection from any Yakuza members trying to chase him down, leading to MK1 main story.

Aftermath

Started from Kenshi's MK1 Tower Ending, he surrendered himself to an Interpol operative, Detective Jackson "Jax" Briggs. Telling him all the details of how the Yakuza operates—including his former boss.

Several months after Kano was detained, a mysterious benefactor got him out of prison, along with other surviving members. Rising once more under a new order: the Black Dragon

Meanwhile, Kenshi and Jax's encounters with Shang Tsung and his attempt to take Sento away, forced them to gather more members through Jax's military connection and form a new government operative, known as Outworld Investigation Agency(OIA). This government operative was built in purpose of solving inter-dimensional crimes, with the first step to this vision being their first creation of Earthrealm's inter-dimensional portal.

More encounters will be found, and more enemies to meet.

Let's start with the cast.

Black Dragon
  • Kano(main boss)
  • Kira(second-in-command)
  • Kabal(Defense Attorney)
  • Erron Black(bounty hunter)

Outworld Investigation Agency

More stuff will be added so stay tune for more

Kung Lao: morning, Sour Patch
Fujin: oh... Hey, Kung Lao
Kung Lao: you're living up to your name recently
Fujin: you called me that because of my favorite candy, remember?
Kung Lao: I mean that in a good way. Now tell me, what's going on?
Fujin: I don't know...
Kung Lao: You mean you don't know where to start from?
Fujin: well, it all started since I was born...
Kung Lao: *chuckle* cheeky as always, ain't ya? Come on, I mean what happened in the past few days
Fujin: oh... That one, I'm not sure either. Everything went so fast since I came back here, to Fengjian, to Wu Shi, it was only to see you and my brother...and Madam Bo...
Kung Lao: I'm sorry for not attending your graduation. I don't know how much that will patch our relationship but it's the least I can do.
Fujin: thank you, I... Kinda need that. My life was fine until...
Kung Lao: Lord Liu Kang choose you to replace Raiden?
Fujin: yeah, that part. I used to have a band at my college days and I was already recording demos for my album and now... I'm picking up what my brother left off, and he's kidnapped. *Sigh*
Kung Lao: you know, I'm not saying this against Lord Liu Kang's judgement, but life finds a way to screw you over just as you already have a life figured out, and it's okay.
Fujin: fuck you mean okay? My amulet doesn't work like Raiden's. I have no control over the winds and then...suddenly I was thrown into a multiverse of a mess because my amulet is NOT a product of this timeline and I end up leading Quan Chi towards Shinnok's amulet. What makes you think I can handle all of that in my head?!
Kung Lao: oh... Wow, that is a lot to take.
Fujin: I KNOW!
Kung Lao: but at least you can vent it out
Fujin: and how is that helping me?!
Kung Lao: well...sometimes you just have to let them all out, because no one should be allowed to face all of that...at least not alone. We can still make a plan to move forward.
Fujin: you know...for a reckless abandon kinda guy...I hate that you're right.
