i’ve gotten a couple asks regarding my stance on the riize boycott and i’m here to say i’m in full support of it, and will be partaking. i’m unfollowing them on all platforms, i will not be streaming their music or watching their content, i will not be buying any albums, merch, etc., and i left their weverse. and like i said before, i won’t be writing for riize for the time being.
riize is seven and will always be seven. i love the boys so much and i believe they deserve to live their dreams in peace together, and be under a company that puts them first. one that protects and respects them. the reason i’m boycotting is because they mean so much to me. it sucks to see them suffer under sm and i’m not just going to be on the sidelines and be complacent. they deserve better treatment.
i know a lot of people use the argument that they’ve suffered enough or that they need our support, and that’s just laziness in my opinion. our support is the boycott. you say you’re sad and upset for them and that they deserve respect and the mistreatment should end…where is the action to back that up? how are you going to say that, then continue to stream their music and interact with their socials? that will show sm that no matter what they do, people will still consume their content — and to them, any engagement is better than none. they’ll take anything even if it’s under the wrong circumstances.
grow a backbone, please. think a little harder about why this is happening in the first place. we have a chance to make real change for riize and for the k-pop industry in general. be loud or don’t say anything at all.
over it october. no energy november. defeated december..
