also so many jokes in the ER (not to jacks face, never) about his child bride. Just the incredulous stares from Collins, Langdon, Shen, Ellis and Mohan. I think Robby is lowkey glad because this would be when He and Collins are going out and this takes the heat off of him.
I like this kind of kinship between them, they-against all odds- pair really well together. Like in the beginning he would be at her place a lot to hang out, family time, even hookup/unwind but he’d still maintain that boundary because he needs complete solitude to work through those tough shifts and his ptsd meanwhile she’d be really okay with that wanting to make sure he was comfortable but also her own insecurities about being a burden to him.
I think it’s so sweet he’d take to sleeping on the floor of the nursery, as like a form of security and comfort, it’s really adorable. And he’d unwind after a night shift with the police scanner at the kitchen table spooning yogurt and berries in his daughter’s mouth, gahhhh the cuteness.
ngl i was hoping for a boy too but the girl is so cute, he’d be such a funny girl dad. He’s such a cynical and moody guy, he strikes me as the type to prepare his daughter for survival for any situation, as a form of fear and love. Teaching his daughter how to do a tourniquet, how to start a fire all in a tutu/pink sparkle light up shoes (her mom). She’d be such a tomboy lol 😆

I know people gravitate towards wanting fathers to have daughters because it’ll make them “softer” but I think it’s just as cute when fathers are just as soft and overprotective over their sons like um that’s their baby boy (yes I’m staring at the poll count for baby abbot and feeling a little disappointed by how behind baby boy is)

i have a request and one other actual longer fic that i have started that both feature abbot and (younger) reader with a son around 4!
god i love this premise, it’s so hilarious that Jack would wind up with a young baby mama. It’d be fun to think of this as pre-canon. So she can kinda fit in the whole first season, like a super young mom coming in to treat a burn or something with a little kid, she’s being seen by a resident whose like so unaware and then boom, Jack walks in and the gossip/stares start. I think Jack can’t really ignore what it looks like but would be annoyed by the stares but ultimately wouldn’t care. And she would just be like *shrugs* “he’s super hot”
Also I am eagerly waiting on the hilarious interaction of Jack telling Robby and Dana. “What’s worse than knocking up your one night stand?” “Um, she’s 23.” “Jesus Christ”
Or maybe when they go out they keep calling Jack grandpa. Or just the heavy looks when they see this very young milf smile around Jack. Just the heavy stares from Robby and Dana as they watch this young family grow lol.
I also think they could have this really cute but kinda dysfunctional family dynamic. Yes they have a healthy coparenting relationship. Dad is teaching the kid survival skills and taking him on camping excursions where they test said survival skills. Yes Mom is chill as hell, and spills tea about the crazy office dynamics while she crafts with her kid. And lowkey loves being a hot mom. Like yes mom and dad sometimes smash because they have needs and it’s just less mess and complication when they have this somewhat dysfunctional FWB situation, that has potential to blossom into something bigger.
Anyways I love this mini series it’s serious feeding me, that man is so fine with the salt and pepper hair. I can’t wait to read more.
