watching every hickeygibson interaction knowing theyve known each other so intimately just makes me feel insane im so sorry, like they are just trying to be Cool and Normal looking at each other and i just know inside both their heads they’re remembering the feel of each others skin and billy gasping and desperately grabbing for him and cornelius’ sweet little words and ardent kisses augh

Davechella #22: The Archaeologist

As promised by Dave in the Q&A, here’s a playlist of music Dave listened to while working on The Terror!

(we’re not going to say it’s the last one any more 😅)

For Dave’s Le Vesconte playlist, Declan Hannigan chose Aphex Twin’s “Windowlicker”.

Missed Dave’s Q&A? Never fear — you can catch up by reading the whole thing in our Discord! Drop us an email if you don’t have the link.

And if you — yes YOU — would like to be part of Terror Camp 2025, have a look at our open job postings! ❄️✨

And a few additional tracks from Dave K!

The tracks I really lamented not being able to include because they're not on Spotify are:

  • Corpoparassita's "Come Preservare L'uomo Dal Caos"
  • Darrin Verhagen's "As X-Rays"
  • EM's "Temple Ghost Simoom"
  • His Divine Grace's "Phénixologie"
  • Molasses' "Désolé" and "Vespers"
  • Nimh & Nefelheim's "Peaceless Rest"
  • Vum's "The Incandescent Tiger"
  • Zimiamvian Night's "A Little Flower In October"

why did jopson make that face during lashing scene why did jirv make that face during lashing scene why did gibson make that face during lashing scene why did hickey make that face during lashing scene why did crozier make that face during lashing scene why did fitzjames have his eyes on crozier during entire lashing scene...many are asking these questions and more

#*stands up on a chair* i can't really speak for the others but ☝️ #i can tell you why i think jirv made that face!! #and it's because he thought he deserved punishment just as much as hickey did #john 'exercised clemency' for hickey and in his mind that's what lead to hickey kidnapping silna and causing all the chaos that happened #he's angry with himself because he thinks his leniency caused hickey to 'sin' further and that if he had just been harder on him maybe none #of this would have happened #so john refuses to look away from hickeys lashing because he is punishing himself too #but what i don't think he expected was to feel sympathy for hickey and to be shocked by the brutality of it all #i think this left jirv with some complicated feelings about hickey and himself and what Deserving something means and who gets to make that #decision. anyway. also it made him hornier than he's ever been in his life but that's a whole other rant in tags ( @fitzjamesbulletwound tags)

i just realized that when hickey pats gibson’s chest he’s also touching the ring he gave him, like a reminder that he loves gibson despite what he’s about to do.

I Heart Brooklyn Girls was a pin-up calendar produced by a group of Brooklyn artists with the goal of celebrating and making visible queer femininity. The 2011 edition was inspired by "classic lesbian and gay pulp novels of the 50’s and 60’s and features local femmes, tomboys, butches, trans, and other hotties from Brooklyn’s queer community."

10% of proceeds were donated to Sylvia’s Place, a LGBTQ shelter for runaway and homeless queer youth in New York.

"The lesbian pulp novel, popular in the 1950's and 1960's, skirted the line between heterosexual fantasy and queer subversion—much like the I Heart Brooklyn Girls calendar itself. Though the genre played into the fears and desires of straight readers, it also dramatically increased queer visibility in bedrooms and bookshops all over the world. For 2011, we salute the outrageously provocative pulp over art of the mid-century by reclaiming it for the 21st century, Brooklyn-Girls style."

tozer identifying as straight while being very nonchalant about fucking men would bother irving so deeply because tozer would be so genuine about feeling that way, it wouldn’t come across as him lying to himself or anything like that. and irving would naturally be jealous of this because a) he knows deep down that he’s fully just gay and b) is incapable of feeling settled about it
