Currently thinking about Bruce quietly respecting and sympathizing with most of his rogues, genuinely wanting them to get better, feeling compassion for them even when he hates them, even when they do horrible things because that's just the person he is and he can't help himself...

Until he finds out that Bane assaulted Talia.

She mentions it in passing one day while they're together, assuming he already knew because Bruce knows everything-- but he didn't, and his expression drops.

Bruce already had a complicated relationship with Bane-- of course he did, the man paralyzed him, nearly killed him, he's one of his most dangerous rogues. That being said, he still respected Bane on some level-- for his intelligence, his drive, his strength. Sometimes, Bruce even thought that in another world where they'd both lived drastically different lives, they could have been friends.

But that was before he knew Bane had harmed his family.

His wife.

His Beloved.

And for the first time since Jason died he has to be physically held back from committing a murder.

As a BruTalia shipper, having a BatCat shipper like and reblog one of my non-bat related DC posts feels like The Christmas Truce of 1914.

We are two opposing soldiers in the war to end all wars (we disagree on which pretty woman Batman should kiss). We do not speak each other's languages (we haven't read the same comics bc we avoid the other ship like the plague) but we will trade helmets (interactions), just this once, and we will smile, and we will see each other as men, and tomorrow morning we will return to the bombs and guns and gas and death (making fun of each other and then blocking anyone who disagrees so we can return to our echo chamber). Neither of us will make it home for Easter (we'll have a new hyperfixation this time next year and we won't gaf about any of this).
