Possible early Vergil DMC 5 concept
This concept art(DMC5 Art Works) here shows clearly Vergil in the middle, along with some familiars(Griffon? A wolf instead of Shadow? And?), wielding the cane. Seems that V wasn’t planned to be in the game from the beginning.
I wonder if they planned a redemption arc for Vergil at first, like Vergil redeeming himself AS VERGIL.
And indeed, during a con the devs showed early concept art and mentioned, that they originally planned to have Gilver in the game, but they changed that during development.

The reunion scene is one of my favourites in the whole game, telling a story about finally accepting yourself.

Birgil going to the see the vet.
It all started with a sneeze. He is brewing his evil revenge against Dante and Nero for putting him into the hospital. He will think about the details in the little cage he is staying in tonight. ( •᷄ὤ•᷅ ꐦ ) (He will be monitored overnight to see if the vaccine has adverse side effects on him)
Though he didn’t hate going to the hospital again actually. The vets were quite nice and handled him gently.( ´∀`)www

Birgil going on a rampage because moulting feels itchy and uncomfortable.
Staring at his balding self make him feel stressed and depressed. Dante discovered that the penguin is in slight depression because Birgil eat less and less fishies daily for a week.
