Ash-Greninja Headcannons

  • Whereas Greninja takes on physical features to Ash, Ash takes on more of Greninja's personality when they're fused. He becomes quieter, more focused, less cheery. He's also a lot less patient. If you try to distract him, he'd probably tell you to shut up (Ash would apologize afterwards though.) His voice also gets a little bit deeper and softer.
  • This is also because Ash easily get overloaded when he's hearing or seeing things that doesn't line up with what Greninja's sensing. It won't be super obvious during the battle, but after Greninja reverts to its original form, Ash will often just stand there, his brain trying to sort out everything that happened.
  • Ash can feel all the pain Greninja's feeling, even in base form (it's significantly less though, more of an annoyance if anything.) Greninja can only feel Ash's pain if the injury is severe.
  • It's the exact opposite for their emotions. Because Ash is generally a very emotional person, Greninja can almost always tell how Ash is feeling. Meanwhile, Greninja is more calm and reserved, so Ash only feels really severe emotions.
  • Although they don't share their senses all the time, Greninja can feel when someone's hugging Ash. It may or may not be intentional on Ash's part.
  • Greninja will often ask Ash about human behaviors. Greninja is always reminded that Ash is the last person you should ask about human behaviors.
  • The two of them always share a mental link, no matter how far they are from each other. They technically can do the bond evolution from anywhere, but doing it when they're not in the same place often ends up with Ash being overstimulated or frozen in place.
  • Ash doesn't need to give orders when they're bonded. He goes deathly quiet and just copies his moves.
  • Ash once tried to use a Z-move while bonded to Greninja. He fainted. (He probably could pull it off, it'd just take a lot of practice, and Greninja thinks he's plenty powerful already.)
  • If Alain is in Kalos, then Greninja often chases him down and battles with Charizard. These battles are usually causal, but if Ash tunes in, then things start getting heated.

day 5: tending each other’s wounds for @zukkaweek

[id: a four-panel comic of zuko and sokka from avatar the last airbender. they are both aged up and have longer hair than in canon and sokka has scars and wounds on his face and arms. in the first panel, zuko is bandaging sokka’s arm with a frown and says “you keep doing that! recklessly sacrificing yourself!” while sokka has his eyes closed in a pained expression and says “ouch!”. in the second panel, sokka looks to the side at an off-screen zuko angrily and says “what do you want me to do, then? looking helplessly how people get hurt?!”. in the third panel, zuko is looking at sokka off-screen and angrily says “i want you to be safe! because i care about you!”. in the fourth panel, zuko and sokka are staring at each other wide-eyed and blushing before zuko looks down and tightens the bandage on sokka’s arm to which sokka responds with a pained expression and says “ouch!”. end id]

Magical Mind Control that completely shuts down a Whumpee's mind. leaving them a obedient shell when "Activated" by Whumper. and in a deep, magical sleep when "Deactivated." When Caretaker finds them and rescues them, it takes days for Whumpee to come out from under Whumper's magical influence.

Post Rescue timeline: Days 1-4; Whumpee just floats in darkness. It's quiet, heavy and blissful. Day 5: Whumpee becomes distantly aware of a voice talking to them. it's not Whumper, but comforting none the less. Day 8: Whumpee manages to open their eyes a little. but everything is blurry. Someone's holding them, a hand is in their hair, Whumpee doesn't quite know who it is, but they know they trust this person more than anyone else in the world. Day 12: A light goes off in Whumpee's brain like a lighthouse in pea soup fog. Caretaker! It's Caretaker who's with them. they wish they could speak Caretaker's name, but they're just so Sleepy, they don't have the energy.

Day 13: Whumpee comes to breifly when Caretaker's gently spoon-feeding them some soup. giving Caretaker a feeble smile. Day 15: Whumpee finally wakes up clear-headed and lucid to a teary-eyed Caretaker, hoarsely whispering "Hey."

*Kicks down the door* YOU KNOW WHUMPY TROPES I LOVE SO MUCH BUT BARELY EVER SEE?

MAGIC FATIGUE/EXHAUSTION/OVERUSE.

Give me those sweet side effects of overusing magic:

  • Getting lightheaded and weak, struggling to stand let alone keep fighting
  • "Are you ok?" "Yeah I'm fine. *immediately faceplants because their legs can't support their weight anymore*"
  • F a i n t i n g
  • Physical injuries like burns, broken bones, etc
  • The risk of permanent damage either physically or mentally
  • Can I get uuuuhhhhh "loses a sense either temporarily or permanently depending on the severity of the overuse"?
  • Stopping their heart (cue the team scrambling to drag their dumbass friend back from death)

THERE'S SO MUCH YOU CAN DO AND I SO RARELY SEE IT.
