The Deaths of Daniel Jackson

This counts actual deaths, supposed or assumed dead, almost deaths/should have died from it, and alternate versions of Daniel (like robot or AU). This is only episode deaths. I haven’t read all the books so I don’t know about deaths in the books.

Stargate the original movie:

  1. Killed by staff weapon, healed by sarcophagus

Season 1:

  1. Killed by Apophis with a staff weapon, healed by the Nox (the Nox)
  2. “killed” by Nem (the rest of SG-1 believed they saw Daniel die due to implanted memories), “resurrected” by hypnosis (Fire and Water)
  3. Alternate universe Daniel killed in Egypt by the Goa'uld, Real Daniel comes back home (not sure if this one counts but a Daniel did die so…) (There But For the Grace of God)

Season 2:

  1. Mortally wounded by a staff weapon, healed by sarcophagus before actual death (The Serpent’s Lair)
  2. Nearly choked to death on prison world, healed by Linea (Prisoners)
  3. Crushed in a landslide and mortally wounded (if not outright killed), healed by sarcophagus. (Need)
  4. Flatlines while trapped inside Ma'chello body (Holiday)
  5. Presumed dead by Jack who is told that he is the sole survivor of SG-1. (Out of Mind) 

Season 3:

  1. None

Season 4:

  1. Shot and killed by the Stargate security system in the future. Jack successfully changes the future thus Daniel never dies (2010)
  2. Flatlines but is resuscitated as soon as he returned through the stargate. and back to the planet. (The Light)
  3. His head is shot off by Cronus. Turns out this Daniel was actually a robot  but viewer believes it is the real Daniel until head is shot off. (Double Jeopardy)

Season 5:

  1. Exposed to a lethal amount of radiation. Ascended by Oma DeSalla at the moment of death. (Meridian)

Season 6:

  1. Presumed dead after the defeat of Anubis when he doesn’t de-ascend. Later returns (Full Circle)

Season 7:

  1. None

Season 8:

  1. Almost killed in the war on Tegalus. Badly injured and declared MIA by the SGC and presumed dead by SG-1. (Icon)
  2. Virtual Daniel died numerous times while attempting to help Teal'c escape from the virtual reality game (Avatar)
  3. Abducted and killed by RepliCarter, Ascends (Reckoning) 
  4. Presumed dead after RepliCarter’s ship was destroyed and Daniel hasn’t shown up. He De-ascends at the end of the episode. (Threads)
  5. Alternate universe Daniel is killed in present day after it’s discovered he was a Goa’uld. Original Daniel dies in the past alone. (Moebius)

Season 9:

  1. Daniel’s death was implied after the destruction of the Korolev, revealed he escaped in the next episode (Flesh and Blood) before the explosion. (Camelot)

Season 10:

  1. Died when the Odyssey exploded. Time reversed by Teal’c (Unending)

Continuum

  1. Killed by Quatesh’s Jaffa while defending Carter. Mitchell traveled back in time to correct history.

Ark of Truth

  1. None

Total: 23

5 confirmed deaths that were not changed due to time travel, where he was not a robot, were not alternate realities, and were not mind manipulations or assumptions. He actually died 5 times:

  1. Original 1994 Movie
  2. The Nox
  3. The Light
  4. Meridian
  5. Reckoning

The way that this is the first time Carson had been hugged in two years (the first time clone!Carson had ever been hugged, if you wanna be technical), and the way that Ronon, who spent seven touch-starved years as a Runner, was the one to give it to him……I just have a lot of feelings about this moment

stargate atlantis knocks it out of the park by having the lead character be literally just some guy. he was just oneill’s ride to base. a flying cab driver who basically immediately got sent to another galaxy to explore other worlds because he’s the specialest boy and the only one who can make intergalactic siri work. he doesn’t even know what a stargate is
