So I had this question on my mind before you posted TN!locket, I was wondering if a locket and Ambulon never separated, or he didn’t die were they eventually have conjunxed or is Locket not the marrying type?
Honestly, it's so sad to think that if Ambulon had shut up and let Locket speak first, they probably would have been fine—maybe. But if Ambulon had ended up joining Locket on the Lover’s Key and stayed neutral with them, man, that's sad to think about.
Locket would probably have been hesitant to get conjunxed, but also, the steps are so easy to take without intending to. Locket revealing they're not an M.T.O.? Ambulon giving Locket his Decepticon badge, them proving they're devoted to each other! I imagine Locket would have been hesitant, but they would have stayed together, so yeah, I think they would have gotten conjunxed.
Thinking about how much better Locket would be right now if Ambulon were still alive—someone to vent to, at least. Maybe Ambulon would have given Drift or Ratchet a piece of his mind.

There is so much to dissect from the True Neutral art piece you just dropped, especially in their designs.
Number one, the most obvious being Locket’s extra kibble and paint job (they’re happy to look just like their dad ‘s mini me😭). With their parents together Locket isn’t riddled by abandonment issues, or fear of change, or getting attached to others, or alcoholism.
Speaking of their parents I love the detail that Deadlock? Drift? Has his yellow optics back. Correct me if I’m wrong but he also looks slimmer, like he’s not a walking gun anymore.
Ratty’s got his color scheme mixed with his G1 inspired Infiltration design but the snatched waist of his MTMTE s2/LL frame 💞
(Also I see that hand around Ratchet’s waist, lucky, they seem to have a better relationship and are maybe officially conjunxed.)
It goes without saying that Locket has a better relationship with their sire, especially since we see them getting teased by Drift/Deadlock. (Go talk to him? You’re insane. Locket, he literally bagged Ratchet albeit in an insane way).
Love that Locket and Pharma interaction, giving the people what they want.
YESSSS, thank you for noticing all the little details! <3 A big theme for main Locket is that they never, like... grew up or changed. That's why, in every AU aside from Shattered Glass, they have more kibble—because they grew into it. So while this Locket is more childish (maybe just more joyful), they still changed and grew. They look so much like DL because that's what felt natural for them. Since they never really wanted to be a medic, it kinda just seemed like something they had to do.
And yes! Deadlock has a lot less kibble. I like to think he just started taking more bounty hunting (no killing) jobs, so he's a bit smaller. And the G1 x LL Ratchet? That was me just being silly...
Who's to say if they're officially conjunxed... (they are).
Locket and Deadlock remained super close, and DL loves teasing them! Maybe Locket knows how much anti-rizz their sire has.
There's actually a lot more character interactions I can do with this version of Locket that I might explore...
so I just finnished reading your locket fic, ( it was funny I thought I was a one shot and just finished rereading the first chapter and then lo-and behold there was the next chapter button) and It almost made me cry. (also, this started as a comic and then I started asking questions so it’s an ask now)
poor ambulon he knows something’s wrong but he doesn’t actually have the information to understand that locket just had a traumatic moment directly mirrored again with the mech they probably care about most at the time
Ambulon doesn’t know what he did wrong but Lockets made up their mind and there’s no going back now. And they’re a freaking parallel of their own creators, do they know that? Do they release that they have essentially recreated the paradigm, and they’re deadlock in this situation??? That they repeat the same mistake as their creators. It’s fucking cyclical! Do they relies?
And now a third person they loved chose a faction over them? Do you think it makes them feel just a little bit more bitter towards the bots, now that not only did their carrier left them for it but now also a lover? His carrier was high ranking enough that they would know beforehand if he was there at all, but Ambulon wouldn’t have that status. Do you think they avoided bot postings because they were subconsciously scared they’d find Ambulon there? Or was there always this little light of hope in their spark that they would see him again? Or maybe it’s both of them.
And theirs no time for ‘I’m sorry-ies’ not that locket would emotionally be able to apologize. Do you think that’s what they thought of when they heard Ambulon was dead? That they left on a sour note? That they never got to apologize? That even though they never apologized Ambulon loved them enough to gift him a part of his spark casing?
How often do you think they thought about the could have beens? What if they had gone with Ambulon, what if him had come with them? Do they wonder what would have happened if they had went to go find Ambulon right after the war had ended? If they had kept in contact? Would it have saved him? Could they have finally flown together on the Lovers Key, given it’s name a new life?
( also congrats you finally got me half writeng again, I haven’t written anything in a year and suddenly I’ve written two things in a week
