billy???

ok so this is kinda intense, a little gorey towards the end. some fucked up stuff. no non-con but definitely ns//fw and some blood and guts.

hal is my number one but i adore bill too, i love just really fucked up characters like them so. i really wanted to write something quick and gross about bill's affliction for the monkey. here it is!

words--2780

Dark hair matted down with sweat, clinging to the back of their neck—sticky, sweet, just like the girl—or guy, or whatever else—beneath him, under him, writhing and sweaty and slick so perfectly.

It didn’t matter who it was underneath him. Didn’t matter any gender, or appearance, or facial harmony—only it, only that putrid, menacing grin—all split open maw revealing wooden teeth that always looked far too human, too real—fuck, maybe they are real? Are those human teeth, what the fuck—?

It didn’t matter. Bill had decided, early on, nothing mattered. Everyone died. Everything died, in some way, shape, or form—nothing was infinite, everything was inevitable. Just like taking her home—him? it?—Bill mused that the goddamn thing didn’t have specific pronouns or an identity, and he could relate to it in that way, he supposed. Meaningless words given to a meaningless piece of him, his sense of self so destroyed and unraveled there was no way to even begin to pick up any pieces and snap them back together. Bill was gone, had been gone for a long time—unlike his idiot fucking brother with his gentle demeanor and attempt at a family life and trying to forget forget forget and whatever the fuck else—

Combating Gender-Based Violence in the Philippines

Gender-based violence (GBV) remains one of the most pressing human rights issues in the Philippines. Despite legal protections, many individuals—particularly women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and marginalized groups—continue to face various forms of abuse, from domestic violence to workplace harassment.

Understanding Gender-Based Violence

Gender-based violence refers to harmful acts directed at individuals based on their gender or sexual orientation. It includes physical, sexual, psychological, and economic abuse. It is deeply rooted in societal norms, gender inequality, and power dynamics, making it a systemic issue rather than an isolated incident.

Real-Life Cases in the Philippines

  1. Christine Dacera Case (2021)

Christine Dacera, a 23-year-old flight attendant, was found dead in a hotel room in Makati on New Year’s Day 2021. Initial reports suggested she was a victim of sexual abuse, sparking national outrage. While the case’s legal proceedings became controversial, it shed light on the vulnerabilities women face, especially in social settings where alcohol, peer pressure, and predatory behaviour intersect. The public debate that followed highlighted the dangers of victim-blaming and the need for improved protections for women.

2. The Killing of Jennifer Laude (2014)

Jennifer Laude, a transgender woman, was murdered by U.S. Marine Joseph Scott Pemberton in Olongapo City. Her case became a landmark for transgender rights in the Philippines. The brutal crime, fueled by transphobia, underscored the dangers faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and the gaps in justice for gender-based violence victims. Despite Pemberton’s conviction, his eventual pardon by President Rodrigo Duterte sparked public outcry and exposed how power dynamics can influence justice outcomes.

The Role of Society in GBV

Ending gender-based violence requires collective efforts from individuals, communities, and institutions. Here’s how we can contribute:

  • Strengthen Legal Protections: Laws such as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (RA 9262) and the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313) must be strictly implemented. Authorities should be trained to handle GBV cases sensitively, ensuring that victims receive justice.
  • Support Survivors: Victim-blaming is a pervasive issue that discourages survivors from coming forward. Society must shift toward a survivor-centred approach, offering legal, psychological, and financial assistance.
  • Engage Men as Allies: GBV is not just a women’s issue—it is a societal problem that requires the active participation of men in challenging toxic masculinity and promoting respect for all genders.

If they’re gonna make Rachel Zegler’s hair like that in Snow White, the least they could have done is add fluffy bangs to frame her face nicely instead of pulling it back and showing her forehead.

Would this be better?

I kinda like that like the small bangs (I don't know what that hairstyle is called) balance her face nicely
