the "i can't believe it's not isekai" genre is somehow more creatively bankrupt than isekai itself
yes, it is tagged "ecchi, harem, monster girl"
You weren't joking, huh.
Gun Shootman was looked down upon due to his weak skill 『Shoot Gun』 and was banished from his party/noble family/chess club but when he discovered that he can shoot people to death he became the strongest and got infinite bitches. 1 million LN volumes and an anime
Every minute on Royal Road a 16-year-old "subverts" the isekai genre by doing a beat-for-beat remake of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court

shut up about how "bad" she did at a sport, a woman is being told she can't do something because of the way she was born, she just happens to be trans so yall think misogyny and bioessentialism is suddenly ok
"she only placed in 24th!" well im only gonna explode you with my mind
I do love learning that people I know's support for women like me extends only as long as we never strive to actually be the best at something.
Love doing something? Better hope you're only mediocre at best, as otherwise you'll be kicked down to where you belong for daring to take the place of a real person.
Fight for my inclusion because I'm a fucking woman, not because I'm too pathetic to have a chance in hell at excelling or of beating you.
i should give my sona big glasses with spirals on them
mint if she wasnt fucking around
they posted a full version lol it’s mr Stacy’s dad for me
Straight culture’s orientation toward heteroromantic sacrifice is also influenced by socioeconomic class. Respect for sacrifice—or sucking it up and surviving life’s miseries—is one of the hallmarks of white working-class culture, for instance, wherein striving for personal happiness carries less value than does adherence to familial norms and traditions. Maturity and respectability are measured by what one has given up in order to keep the family system going, an ethos that is challenged by the presence of a queer child, for instance, who insists on “being who they are.” Queerness—to the extent that it emphasizes authenticity in one’s sexual relationships and fulfillment of personal desires—is an affront to the celebration of heteroromantic hardship. As Robin Podolsky has noted, “What links homophobia and heterosexism to the reification of sacrifice . . . is the specter of regret. Queers are hated and envied because we are suspected of having gotten away with something, of not anteing up to our share of the misery that every other decent adult has surrendered to.”
For many lesbian daughters of working-class straight women, opting out of heterosexuality exposes the possibility of another life path, begging the question for mothers, “If my daughter didn’t have to do this, did I?” Heterosexuality is compulsory for middle-class women, too, but more likely to be represented as a gift, a promise of happiness, to be contrasted with the ostensibly “miserable” life of the lesbian. The lesbian feminist theorist Sara Ahmed has offered a sustained critique of the role of queer abjection in the production of heteroromantic fantasies. In Living a Feminist Life, she notes that “it is as if queers, by doing what they want, expose the unhappiness of having to sacrifice personal desires . . . for the happiness of others.” In The Promise of Happiness, Ahmed argues, “Heterosexual love becomes about the possibility of a happy ending; about what life is aimed toward, as being what gives life direction or purpose, or as what drives a story.” Marked by sacrifice, misery, and failure along the way, the journey toward heterosexual happiness (to be found with the elusive “good man”) remains the journey.

i just remember one time i saw someone say like “would you treat astarion badly if he were watching your playthrough? be honest.” i loved the way they said it. personally i think if a video game character were real then the in-game treatment of them would not be the only or even prior ethical dilemma. i think perhaps if astarion were real he might find it uncomfortable to watch you spend hundreds of hours interacting with an avatar of him even if you’re nice to it. i think if astarion were in my living room I probably wouldn’t boot up Baldur’s Gate 3 first thing. as a thought
I want WYLL to be in my living room so we cam play Shadow Generations!!!!!!
In Tony Hawk's Underground 2 nearly every character is a real person that you get to beat up, make piss themselves, and throw into the ocean as much as you want. These real people thought this was hilarious and highly approved of the game and their portrayal; just a damn good time was had all around by everybody.
This is to say that I think astarion would laugh uproariously every time you poor little meow meow'd him in the game
Listen my dudes Ancient Egypt existed for a really fuckass long time. Literally just Pharaonic civilization lasted 3,000 years. That’s not even including predynastic civilization and Roman rule. If you lump that in you’re looking at more like… 5,000 years. Like. If you want a comparison of how long that is: THE YEAR IS CURRENTLY 2018. TWO THOUSAND. TWO-THIRDS OF ANCIENT EGYPTIAN PHARAONIC CIVILIZATION HAVE HAPPENED SINCE THE ‘BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST’ We comparatively just entered the Third Intermediate Period. The Greeks will not take over for another 700~ years. Cleopatra will not be born until the year 2931.
It’s a really long time guys.
Anyway look. Listen. I sat my ass down and wrote out a timeline of “when shit happened if you started at 1AD” because I know backwards numbers are hard to process but here’s an abridged version. If the first Egyptian Pharaoh came to power in 1AD then…
300: step pyramid built 450: Great Pyramid at Giza built 815: Pepi II dies and civil war breaks out 950: Egypt re-unified 1350: Middle Kingdom ends 1450: New Kingdom begins 1520: Hatshepsut is on the throne 1650: Ahkenaten switches to monotheistic religion and builds a new city 1680: Tutankhamun dies 1720: Ramesses II ‘the great’ ascends to the throne 1740: World’s first peace treaty signed 1790: Ramesses II dies leaving way too many children 1920: Egypt breaks into 2 states again And now we get to ~~~~the future~~~~. If we started at 1AD all of this stuff hasn’t happened yet 2050: Briefly re-united as a single state 2180: Civil war 2250: Nubian kings take over 2335: Assyrian conquest 2665: Alexander the Great conquers Egypt 2930: Cleopatra VII born 2970: Cleopatra VII dies. Egypt falls to Rome. Fin.
And that’s just starting with the Pharaohs. If you wanted to start with Predynastic Egypt, you can go ahead and ADD ONE THOUSAND YEARS to all of those dates
I hate that this is still getting notes but that it’s getting notes *without the timeline addition* like c’mon, man. I had to do MATHS for this. I DID MATHS FOR YOU PEOPLE AND ALL I GOT WAS A BUNCH OF RACISTS
pov you are a fish or perhaps a berry
this is the most succinct definition of "ronin" i've ever seen
