PINNED POST

me? making a pinned post? more likely than you’d think.

hi, i’m nat, but most people call me berry. but you can call me anytime.

first thing you should know about me is that i ship shance. the second thing you should know about me is that i’m really annoying about it.

i write fanfiction, which you can find on my Ao3.

this blog is mostly just an amalgamation of everything i enjoy. there’s too many to list but recurring things you may see here are voltron: legendary defender, the mandalorian/star wars, wicked, and marvel.

i also scream into the void often. thanks for listening. or ignoring. i appreciate it either way.

i think it goes without saying but if you’re homophobic, biphobic, acephobic, fatphobic, racist, a terf, or an “anti-shipper” you’re not going to have a good time on this blog.

that’s all folks!

Also remember that letting people cover their faces in public did not lead to everyone getting robbed

And also remember that letting people work from home, and attend virtual concerts, and go to meetings via zoom, and go to conferences virtually, and go to religious services virtually, and go to all kinds of other events virtually and thus, allowing for disabled and chronically ill folks to participate in society like never before…

But now, folks want to take so many of those options away all over again…isolating disabled and chronically ill folks from society again. It’s cruel…taking something beautiful like that away from us after showing us that something like that was possible this whole time since we have had the technology. And now that we know for a fact that the technology exists, non-disabled and non-chronically ill people want to take that away from us?

It’s beyond cruel.

If you’ve never been house bound or bed bound for months or years on end like I have? Or like others like me have? Then you have no idea what this feels like. None.

I must be on a Daredevil kick…

hate to be a "it's not you it's me" person but it really is me a lot of the time. like, if i'm scared for my life because someone is talking in a frustrated tone, it doesn't mean they're a dangerous person for experiencing frustration, it means i'm projecting past adverse experiences onto them. I feel like it's important to notice when you're projecting instead of just saying "trust your gut" in every situation when you're aware your perspective is skewed

I’ve seen some people complaining about Channing Tatum/his accent in Deadpool & Wolverine, and I just want to set a few things straight.

  1. Channing has been on the docket to play Gambit since 2005, but each and every time, the character was cut from the script, he had a prior contract, or the director kept getting replaced until the project was scrapped 4 years later with the Fox/Disney merger.
  2. He has family in Louisiana and grew up in the bayous (albeit in rural Alabama). This character has meant something to him since CHILDHOOD when it comes to representation in media.
  3. Gambit doesn’t speak SAE (Standard American English). He’s a street urchin from Acadia/New Orleans. He grew up speaking Cajun (a mix of Southern American, Canadian French, and España Spanish grammar applied to a mostly English vocabulary) and Louisiana French (an offshoot of Canadian French from Acadians).
  4. Every person I’ve seen online who ACTUALLY GREW UP around people who speak Cajun, Creole, and/or Louisiana French has said that his accent is SPOT ON, maybe even a little too clear.

All this to say: if you can’t understand Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine, you’re not supposed to. That’s the bit: unless you’re used to those dialects and accents, you’re shit outta luck trying to parse it out without help. Hell, even Rogue, who grew up in the South, doesn’t know what he’s saying half the time.

its just embarrassing when you make a fandom related post and it doesnt get any notes like okay. so no one want to play tuoys with me. no one wants to play with our little guys together. okay thats fine. yeah its cool... puts my hands in my jacket pockets. kicks a beer can that was on the side of the road a little
