Buck hopping into his uniform pants while Eddie buttons up his jacket, Buck rushing Christopher out the door, Eddie trailing closely behind carrying all of their school and work bags, Buck and Eddie waking up plastered into each other and laughing it off, Buck washing the dishes while Eddie gets their lunchboxes ready. and ending with Buck and Eddie getting into bed with practiced ease, facing each other even in the dark, talking about everything and nothing.

need a fic where buck is this astronaut who gets lost in space and makes vlogs and videos that he assumes no one will ever see and he knows he is probably stranded up there forever so they just keep him sane, and eddie is a communications tech on earth who doesn’t even work in the space industry but somehow wires get crossed (red wires that resemble a string..) and he ends up getting them, one by one and he slowly falls in love with this guy and his boyish charm and his vulnerability and ingenuity and the tapes are labeled years in the past so he thinks he’s falling for someone who must be long gone but since time works different or something idk I didn’t understand interstellar bucks alive and the same age as eddie and eddie (being super knowledgeable and competent in communication technology) manages to retrace the signal and send something back. and bucks laying (floating) in his little chamber and suddenly a green light starts blinking on the radio and he presses it first human contact he’s heard in years and he hears the most beautiful voice say “hey buck? this. this is eddie”

the thing about buddie is that they verbalize their love for each other very differently and neither is less meaningful. buck will tell anyone who stays around for more than ten seconds about how much he adores eddie; he's a great dad. he has a silver star. did you know eddie was in the army? he can change a tire in under five minutes. not having him around has left a hole. his love is so big and overwhelming that it just spills out of him any chance it gets. it's with eddie that he shows it differently, never really putting it into words. meanwhile eddie is shown talking about buck to other people so rarely that it's almost jarring when he does, but it's still so irrefutably evident that he loves him. he keeps it close to his chest, like it's something precious, like he kept chris and shannon to himself at first, but never hesitates to tell buck directly: i trust you with my kid. you're not expendable. we love you. i don't know what i'll do without you. it's not nothing.
