And... it's out! It's live after an entire year and eight months with this story living inside my head, I can finally say that the first chapter is already on Ao3. This story means so much to me as it was there in the best and worst times of my life simultaneously. So proud of how this baby is shaping up to be. Every chapter will feature a cassette tape with the song title & artist used for the 80's chapters, and same will be done for the 90s, but a CD this time around.

TROPES: Angst With A Happy Ending (heavy on happy ending) | Developing Relationship | Songfic | Character Study | Period Typical Homophobia | Rockstar Eddie Munson | Domestic/Househusband Steve Harrington | Attempt At Humor | Minor Character Death | Depiction of Lung Cancer | Depiction of the Musical Industry

SUMMARY:

"From the variation of crescere, crescendo is a gradual and significant increase in the volume of music."

Or, Steve Harrington and Eddie Munson, in the time frame of the middle to late eighties and all across the nineties, as told by the soundtrack that sets the rhythm of their relationship. A tale of exciting beginnings, disruptive middles and climaxing endings, just like music.

Standard version (complete work) - Chapters 01 to 12;

Bonus tracks - Scenes that ended up not making into the tracklist, additional content;

DELUXE EDITION - A few scenes sorted to turn into a television screenplay

Read an Excerpt for the first chapter below the cut:

Mel really stayed true to herself through it all. That's so rare for a character with this kind of arc. She never let go of her compassion, even with being kidnapped and tortured. It didn't harden her into someone unrecognizable. I did joke about a villain arc because that's what a character like that usually gets when it's time to be calculated and kill the thing that needs killing.

But Mel didn't need that to be badass, embrace her powers, and cut off the head of the dragon even though it happened to be her mother - her mother who thought she was so weak just because she wasn't brutal.

She is the wolf but only out of necessity. She can make the hard calls. She can even deliver death, but she won't without trying everything else first.

That's a leader. She's a leader her mother could never fathom, and now she has her army.

Arcane man... good shit.
