that being said, all religions are safe on my blog!!! i’m a safe space for all!!
i just moved back home, which for me has been a major life event and i have put worshipping on the back burner. Gods forgive me i am slowly getting to a better spot.
as for the deities i absolutely adore… well, i love them all, but i feel a calling to Poseidon, Hades, Apollo, and recently, Dionysus.

King Jupiter (the first one for sure, the second is speculated to be him)

Romulus, Remus, and the She-Wolf with a horse

Lady Diana

Odysseus

I’m going to do a separate post for Lord Dionysus because there are so many of them.

This is how I imagine Odysseus in Ruthlessness

31 Days Of Hellenic Polytheism!

I thought this was a really cute idea! shoutout to @wisdom-devotee for creating these questions!

DAY ONE: Who was the first deity you began worshipping? Do you still worship them now? If this has been answered before: how has your worship changed since last year?

Technically the first deity I began worshiping was Aphrodite, and while I still love her, and plan to continue worshipping her, right now I'm really only worshipping Apollon, Hermes, and Dionysus directly.

As for how my worship has changed since last year... well.. this time last year I was taking classes to convert to Catholicism so you could say it's changed quite a bit.

31 Days of Hellenic Polytheism

Anyone can participate regardless of how long you’ve been a Hellenic polytheist! My hope is to use these questions to reflect on the year, and repeat next year to see what has changed, and hopefully to continue doing that every year!

Answer in as much or as little detail as you see fit. You are allowed to skip any questions that you are uncomfortable answering. These questions can also apply to heroes, not just deities. You can pick specific deities to answer each one, or answer the questions with all the deities you worship. This might apply to other Pantheons and I’m happy for it to be used as such. Feel free to tweak some of the questions to fit those pantheons if you’d like!

Please link this list on your posts with your answers so that it is easy for others to find if they want to participate too after seeing your answers.

THIS IS TO BE DONE DURING DECEMBER, I’M JUST POSTING THE LIST NOW SO PEOPLE CAN FIND IT!

Have fun!

Homeric Hymn XXI to Apollo

Trans. H.G. Evelyn-White

Phoebus, of you even the swan sings with clear voice to the beating of his wings, as he alights upon the bank by the eddying river Peneus; and of you the sweet-tongued minstrel, holding his high-pitched lyre, always sings both first and last. And so hail to you, lord! I seek your favour with my song.

I’ve been seeing a lot of people in the helpol community being extremely disrespectful to deities who are mythologically associated with more negative traits.

A common argument for the translations of the Bible are that it was written by a man, and therefore should not be taken literally as the words and actions of God.

We need to keep that same energy here. The gods are not their myths. Myths were written by man, not gods. Take them with a grain of salt. Do your research to understand what political and social influences may have taken place in the text. And remember that holding a deity to the standards of their mythology is unrealistic. Zeus is not an awful god, Poseidon is not a god who is only capable of anger. The gods are multifaceted.

filter on ao3 that only shows fic by women in their 40s who has a degree and works an office job and probably leaves authors notes that are like “sorry for the wait on the chapter guys! i had to give birth to my third kid😂”
