finally worked up the initiative to start painting the models i put together a month ago, which came with stickers but they looked bad and didnt really stick well
unfortunately, despite the fact that there isnt really much to paint surface-area-wise, it is SO tedious. hoping they’ll look nice enough at the end for me to feel satisfied at least, and they wont be staring at me unfinished from my shelf anymore

why is there a really good sax solo in amy rose's theme 'my sweet passion' from sonic adventure 1? i thought i finally had something for my bottom "I hate it" tier and i have to bump it up to 'mediocre'
at least i can put big's theme at the bottom. gill introducing this one with 'this is one of those songs where they just got a singer from off the street' and even if they're being hyperbolic, it sure sounds like it. WE'VE JUST HIT A PIANO SOLO IN IT THAT SOUNDS DECENT BUT I WONT MOVE IT. ITS STAYING BOTTOM TIER

anyway, after enduring what felt like 100000 songs from sonic and the secret rings and various sonic riders games, the bowling for soup guy sounds like an angel by comparison

#we're only at sonic R#i need a text post tag#disclaimer: i have not actually played like 95% of sonic games#so maybe i have no business saying that sonic R sucks. but based on what i have seen of and heard about that game#it does not sound fun to play. it sounds like all of the characters control like ass#its fun to be a like. semi-fan of sonic the hedgehog. a bystander. entertaining to look at a series of games that are so varied in quality#but takes a lot of wild shots in the dark. they love to swing BIG with sonic the hedgehog#sonic the hedgehog

mother 1 soundtrack album… i should be sleeping but im spending some time with it again instead. the percussion in magicant is so nice
i am sure i have like, Zero thoughts about this album that other people haven't had already, but it still leaves a really strong impression on me. opinions (potentially well trod/sacrilegious) incoming
im so torn between being charmed by the circumstances in which the songs received fluent but monumentally corny english lyrics, and kind of bemoaning that the compositions and instrumentation are genuinely fantastic in a way that the lyrics frequently aren't
the lyrical style DOES legitimately work with Pollyanna, given its subject matter. and since childhood and friendship are prominent themes of the game, the song lyrics having a childish naivete in general isn't unfitting. i think The Paradise Line is the song that suffers hardest from its lyrics- the vocalist being obviously an adult contributes to why they bother me there. i'm not a poet or lyricist so its not like i could do better- i'm not a musician either so my opinions on the quality of anything music related should not be taken authoritatively. i just can't help but wonder if some of the songs would hit a lot harder if a better poet had been tasked with writing the lyrics
anyway. overall i really like the album and none of the lyrics actually ruin the songs for me, even if paradise line comes closest. the only track i always skip is wisdom of the world, but i don't think its lyrics are why, i just don't care for it.
also i love the track thats just a 20 minute mashup of songs from the actual game. i love that factory track in a way i wouldn't have expected for how noisy it is
found out that the pokemon quiz has multiplayer and got briefly excited, but i've spent too long training at this quiz. im not sure who i could invite to play this with me who would have fun
i think the ideal way for me to do pokemon quiz with other people is in a group call, and i just type in everyone's answers as they give them because i type fast as hell. and i can give hints because i can remember most of them very quickly
#although its possible that just having other people in there naming shit would throw me off#since it would disrupt the like. patterns i memorized#most of why i can name them pretty quickly is because i go roughly in order until i get to the later dexes that ive had less practice with#i need a text post tag#pokemon
